VELAMMAL’S CHESS PRODIGY HONOURED
Master D Gukesh, Class IX of Velammal Vidyalaya Mel Aynambakkam became
the second youngest GM(GrandMaster) in chess history. His blazing talent
has raised him to this pinnacle.
Recognizing his stupendous achievement at the age of twelve, he was honoured by our Hon'ble Chief Minister Thiru Edappadi K Palaniswami with a cash award of 5 lacs at the secretariat, recently.
Velammal has time and again produced several GMs.
The school management extols his astounding achievement and wishes him future laurels.
