~ Simply say, “Alexa, play, MixTape Punjabi” to listen to the complete season first on Prime Music

All good things come to an end. The second season of T-Series MixTape Punjabi had a stupendous run and will conclude with the 11th and the final episode that releases today.

For the finale episode of the MixTape Punjabi Season 2, produced by Bhushan Kumar and presented by Amazon Prime Music, T-Series roped in noted singers Inder Chahal and Asees Kaur to render a beautiful medley of two really popular and loved Punjabi songs of all-time - Teri Lod Nahi and Rabba. The melodious songs are accentuated with powerful vocals from the two incredibly gifted singers, creating yet another episode that can't be missed.

Sahas Malhotra, Director, Amazon Prime Music, said, “We have had an exciting season of MixTape Punjabi Season 2 and are delighted that Amazon Prime Music can provide listeners with music from the best Indian artists along with the benefits of ad-free and voice-enabled listening experience. As we wrap up this season, Prime customers can go back and listen to all the songs from MixTape Punjabi Season 2 by simply saying, “Alexa, play MixTape Punjabi” on Prime Music.”

Ask Asees why they picked Rabba and Teri Lod Nahi and she explains, “I chose Rabba because I love this song. I wanted a new take on this song and Teri lod nahi beautifully blends with Rabba.” She further adds, "The entire duration of shooting MixTape season 2 was incredible -- from selecting attires, dress trials to meeting the directors Radhika (Rao)  ji and Vinay (Sapru) ji. Throughout the shoot, I felt so comfortable and homely. The shoot went on for four to five hours very smoothly and it felt great. This project was something I was looking forward to doing since quite some time and I am glad I got this chance."

She also shares that shooting something like mixtape is more demanding. "Well, the challenge in MixTape was blending both the songs together to create a dulcet mash-up. This mixtape was also about getting two artistes, two songs and two emotions to create one tuneful track, that is pleasant to the ears," says the Makhna singer.

On the other hand, Inder thanks Bhushan Kumar for presenting him with an opportunity like this. "What Bhushanji is trying to achieve with mixtape is incredible. It's always interesting to try out something different. The entire series is like a full getaway from the usual singles or songs that we see. It's unique and Teri Lod Nahi and Rabba have rhythm and pace and blend really well together. It was amazing shooting with the team and Asees. I hope the audiences enjoy the song as much as we did making it."

Putting forth his views on the last episode of MixTape Punjabi director Vinay Sapru explains, “Teri Lod Nahi and Rabba is one of the most beautifully arranged songs of this MixTape Punjabi Season 2. This is a very free-spirited song shot in a free-flowing manner. We have taken long shots to do justice to the mood. You will see that both our young singers have a complete grip and command on their voices. That’s really the USP of this particular episode of MixTape Punjabi.”

The director further adds, “Punjabi music is a hugely popular genre sung by legendary singers from Bulleh Shah to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Daler Mehndi to Hansraj Hans and many others. You get to see such rich poetry and renditions of Punjabi music. This being the last episode of  T-Series MixTape Punjabi Season 2, it is very befitting that the last episode shows that the legacy of Punjabi  music will continue and is in safe hands with these two young singers – Asees Kaur and Inder Chahal.”

Presented by Amazon Prime Music and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the latest episode of Mixtape Punjabi season 2 featuring the Inder Chahal and Asees Kaur is now available on Amazon Prime Music and T-Series YouTube channel.

Amazon Prime Music presented Jonita Gandhi & Meet Bros

Amazon Prime Music presented Jonita Gandhi & Meet Bros' Chittiyan Kalaiyan and Baby Doll combo for T-Series MixTape Punjabi season 2, is out now!
~Simply tap on the Alexa icon and ask “Alexa, play MixTape Punjabi” on Amazon Prime Music to listen to all the songs from MixTape Punjabi Season 2

When it comes to creating great music and innovative ideas, there's no music label even close to Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. The channel is the most viewed one on YouTube globally and T-Series songs are sure to rake in over 100 million views on a regular basis. The team had introduced a smart but soothing concept of MixTape where they get two singers crooning unplugged Versions of two songs blended into one track.

For the latest episode of MixTape Punjabi season 2, produced by Bhushan Kumar and presented by Amazon Prime Music, T-Series has now got singers Jonita Gandhi and Meet Brothers together for an upbeat and groovy MixtTape on songs Baby Doll from Ragini MMS 2 and Chittiyan Kalaiyan from Roy. With Jonita and Meet Brothers behind the mic, the music video has been directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

Sahas Malhotra, Director, Amazon Prime Music, said, “We are excited about the tremendous response and interest shown by our listeners in the recreated Bollywood songs with a new twist. To keep delighting our Prime members, we bring yet another all-new episode featuring two popular and foot-tapping tracks by Jonita Gandhi and Meet Bros’ mixtape of Chittiyan Kalaiyan and Baby doll. This will be available ad-free and exclusively first on Amazon Prime Music.”
Jonita shares, "MixTape Punjabi season 2 has a very different vibe from the Hindi mixtapes that I have been part of. This one is lovely and it was a blast to shoot for. I'm excited to bring out my Punjabi side this time around because most people don't know I'm Punjabi." She further adds, "When you're mashing up two songs that are so well-known, it's hard to forget the original structures and embrace a new one. But the more people listen to ourfresh mash up, the more natural the new structure will feel."

Meet Bros says, "This is the first time we are doing mixtape and we wanted to start it off with our two iconic tracks that got us recognition and popularity. They were T-Series songs in Punjabi and these were the songs after which Punjabi songs started getting more popularity in Bollywood. They
were a huge hit worldwide and although Kanika couldn't do it, we had Jonita joining us and we gave a different spin to this version."

Vinay Sapru, the director, finally adds, "The episode needs to be seen for the sheer coordination between the two artists when they are coming together and performing with each other. They gel with each other as if they have composed it originally. They are spontaneous. Jonita is a very South Bombay kind of an artist and she's singing Baby Doll where the lyrics might not befolk but the instrumentation definitely is. She's given a very urban approach to the song. Meet Bros are these modern Punjabi boys who are bringing desi mitti ka gaana. So the combination has been amazing."

Presented by Amazon Prime Music and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Jonita Gandhi and Meet Bros' episode of MixTape Punjabi season 2 is available first on Amazon Prime Music for Prime members to enjoy giving listeners an ad-free, voice-enabled listening experience.

Palak informs, “I absolutely love both the compositions because they are high on emotions and romance which required me to completely pour my heart out and sing. Combining two songs is like combining two different worlds but the experience was absolutely amazing. Working with Radhika ma’am and Vinay sir is always fun and I think this is one of our best works together. Working with T-Series feels like home and that energy reflects in our work. We had no formal rehearsal but it just came out naturally and I hope people are able to connect with the emotions.”

Director Vinay Sapru adds, “When we were rehearsing and shooting the song on the set, Jordan was almost moved to tears. That was the intensity of the song and the way he felt about the lyrics and emotions. It’s about the cry for love, beautifully arranged by Abhijit (Vaghani). Both the singers are wearing red, which is the colour of the heart! And that’s how the soul connect is happening visually also. When you listen to the song you will be able to relate to the angst and lyrics and rendition by Jordan and Palak.”

Sharing his musical experience, Jordan says, “It is my first song which I shot in Mumbai since I shoot mostly in Punjab and Delhi. The genre and feel of both the songs are similar and that has come out well. The experience was unique and nice because I haven’t shot for a song in this kind of a set-up before.”

Presented by Amazon Prime Music and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Palak Muchhal and Jordan Sandhu’s episode of MixTape Punjabi Season 2 is available first on Amazon Prime Music for Prime members to enjoy giving listeners an ad-free, voice enabled listening experience.
