Sunaina pairs opposite new hero in Sci-Fi Dark Comedy Trip

Few days ago, the news on Yogi Babu and Karunakaran sharing the space together for a Sci-Fi Dark Comedy film titled “Trip” had generously gained the attention of public glare. Now, a new inclusion happens with the star-cast as the ravishing and talented Sunaina, who will be playing the love interest of Praveen, who earlier shot to fame for his prominent role in Atharvaa Murali starrer “100”.
Director Denni says, “The role played by Sunaina is a challenging one as it involves lots of moments to grease her elbows. Initially, we had approached several leading heroines for this role as we felt that their presence would deepen the character’s value. However, they weren’t ready to pair opposite a new hero like Praveen. Surprisingly, Sunaina gave an instant nod understanding the unique value of this script and depth of her role. I am sure; this film will be definitely regarded as one among the best for Sunaina.”

Actress Sunaina says, “The first thing that impressed me a lot was script and the way how Dennis narrated it. It was almost like a VR-Box experience, where I could find myself commuted into the forest ambience experiencing what my character alongside others would do.” Talking about her choice on playing the love interest of a new hero, she says, “There’s nothing called a new or well established actor. End of the day, it’s about how well an artiste gives life to the roles offered to them. During the rehearsals, I could see that Praveen has great potentials of establishing himself as a prominent actor with his unique skills.”

Produced by Viswanathan. A for Sai Film Studios, the film was launched this morning (September 11) with a ritual ceremony that was attended by producer Vishwanathan.A, Actor-Producer Praveen, Lakshmi Priya, Athulya Ravi, Karunakaran, director Sam Anton, Producer Shakthi - Shakthi Film Factory, director Dass Ramasamy, director Sathyamurthy, Dialogue writer Savarimuthu (Viswasam & Irumbu Thirai fame), director Dennis Manjunath, Cinematographer Udhaya Shankar, editor Deepak, stunt master Danger Mani, costume designer - Nivetha Joseph, choreographer Shakthi Raju, Music director Siddhu Kumar and Executive Producer Kannan & Production Executive - Theni Thamizh were present for the occasion.

The shooting will start from September 16 in Talakona forest, where the entire portions will be completed in a single stretch of 38 days followed by 2 days of shoot in Kodaikanal.

Directed by debutant Dennis Manjunath, who worked as former associate to Sam Anton in “100”, Siddhu Kumar of Sivappu Manjal Pachai is composing music with Udhay Shankar handling cinematography and Deepak on editing.  The film is about unexpected events that happen when two groups, one involving Yogi Babu and Karunakaran travelling for a painting job and another one comprising of 5 boys and 4 girls on a trip inside forest come across each other.

Writer Babu Tamizh on “Jiivi”

Across the ages, ‘Content is King’ has been the hugely accepted theory and following them ardently have yielded finest results. With the season overwhelming with such unique tales that are interwoven with freshness, script writer Babu Tamizh has already become popular for the kind of stunning response that “Jiivi” has gained for him. While the film is scheduled for release on June 28, 2019, script writer Babu Tamizh shares some interesting elements about his writing process.

“Having tried my best to get into filmmaking, I had to go back to my native place due to some personal commitments. During that point of time, I firmly realized one thing that unique and different scripts alone will get welcomed and recognized. Eventually, I started ideating on same and that’s how the origin of “Jiivi” happened. The concept of ‘Human connectivity’ took me by huge interest, which I tried implementing it as the major premise in this film. Aftermath the narration, I approached my close friend-director VJ Gopinath, who was looking out for opportunity to make a film. I wanted to gain experience on the directorial grounds and hence thought of being associated with him. After meeting several actors for more than couple of years, we finally happened to meet Vetri. Although he was impressed with the script, it took some time for us to convince his father-producer Velappandian sir, who finally gave a nod to the project,” says Babu Tamizh.

So how does he feel after watching the final output helmed by VJ Gopinath? “I am completely happy and satisfied to see my script find a perfect celluloid version. Most of the times, it happens that scripts undergo lots of changes from the respective directors, whereas Gopinath completely respected my work and has given the best in materializing it without making any changes. Yes, we did have a joint effort in simplifying the screenplay as we wanted the audience to understand the dramatic proceedings easily. Be it the protagonist’s role by Vetri or the character of Mani essayed by Karunakaran, everyone has impeccably done a fabulous job.”

A fantasy-thriller by genre, Jiivi is directed by VJ Gopinath and is produced by M.Vellapandian, V. Sudalaikan Vellapandian and V. Subramanian Vellapandian for Vetrivel Saravana Cinemas. Vetri, Monica Chinnakotla, Ashwin Chandrashekar, Rohini, Karunakaran, Rama, Mime Gopi and others will be seen in prominent characters.

Actor Karunakaran on “Jiivi”

The singularity of being able to swap between hilarious and character roles has distinguished Karunakaran as a prominent actor in K-Town. With scrutinizing efforts over choosing the best and different scripts-roles, Karunakaran has now become the favourite of masses not alone for his humorous appeal, but as a character artiste as well. Having played an important role in “Jiivi” scheduled for June 28 release, the actor has something interesting to share about the film.

“I happened to come across “Jiivi’ when Big Print Karthikeyan suggested me to hear the script while shooting for Kalavu. On the hearing the narration, I was very much spellbound as I came across lots of fresh elements. It would be a stereotypical statement if I say it’s a different and unique film. Precisely, the film has a genuine story, which occurred to me like first-of-its-kind. What’s more appreciable is that despite the film having a complex premise, it has been neatly presented with simplified narration making sure that it engrosses the universal audiences. When the story was narrated to me, the concept of ‘Human Connectivity’, which happens to be the major backdrop excited me a lot and I thoroughly enjoyed the process, where the script was being materialized into visual medium.I am glad I had an opportunity to work with this team and very happy to work with Rohini Mam once again thank audiences for their support to new concepts”

Evidently, actor Karunakaran has now become a great asset in many movies for his hilarious roles. While the trailer of “Jiivi” looks more like a complicated and serious drama, how well can we expect his humour in this film? He reverts with clarity saying, “Jiivi is a thriller film laced with some surprise elements. It does have some humour in accordance to the situational context, but with limitations. Naturally, these days, audiences have started looking up for unique contents and we are urged by their interests to deliver something different from one film to the other.”

While Babu Tamizh has written the script, VJ Gopinath has wielded the megaphone for “Jiivi”, which is produced by M. Vellapandian, V. Sudalaikan Vellapandian and V. Subramaniam Vellapandian for Vetrivel Saravana Cinemas. Vetri, Monica Chinnakotla, Ashwin Chandrashekar, Rohini, Karunakaran, Rama, Mime Gopi, Thangadurai and few others will be seen prominent characters. The technical crew comprises of KS Sundaramurthy (Music), Praveen Kumar (Cinematography) and Praveen KL (Editing)

MAKERS OF MAYA & MAANAGARAM

MAKERS OF MAYA & MAANAGARAM BRING A COMPLETE FAMILY ENTERTAINER WITH SJ SURYAH’S MONSTER DIRECTED BY NELSON VENKATESAN OF ORU NAAL KOOTHU FAME

The salient trait of Potential Studios is its unique ability to cherry-pick phenomenal tales and talents. This has been evident through films like Maaya and Maanagaram, that erased the linguistic barriers to reach a much wider audience. Their third production venture titled MONSTER, starring SJ Suryah and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles, is going to be another example of this.

“Monster will be a complete family entertainer,” starts off filmmaker Nelson Venkatesan, whose maiden directorial venture- Oru Naal Koothu- had received critical acclaim. So how different is this film from his previous one? “The audience will definitely feel a difference in the premise and treatment of this film, compared to ONK. This is a complete ‘Kids-Centric film’, which will engross the audience across all age groups,” claims the director.

Talking about the inspiration behind MONSTER, Nelson says, “Initially, I had narrated other scripts to Potential Studios. However, an incident that happened in my house, inspired me me to craft a script based on it. That is what Monster is.
I can’t reveal anything more about the context, as it will be a spoiler.”

While shedding light on the film’s star-cast, Nelson says, “SJ Suryah doesn’t need an analysis on his performance. He is a wizard with his own style, and his effortless performances have won all our hearts. He will be a perfect entertainer in Monster too, from the very first scene to the last. Priya Bhavani Shankar understood the depth of her character and was able to put more life into it. She has strived for the best in this movie. Karunakaran had appeared in a serious character in my previous film Oru Naal Koothu, but in Monster he will be tickling your funny bones.”

Sharing his experience working with Potential Studios, filmmaker Nelson says, “It’s a huge privilege for me as a director to work for such a production house, which lives up to its commitment of delivering good quality films. That has been its greatest USP and knowing this gave me an added sense of responsibility to deliver a noteworthy product.”

Monster has a technical crew comprising of Justin Prabhakaran (Music), Gokul Benoy (Cinematography), VJ Sabu Joseph (Editing), Sankar Dass (Co-writer) and Shankar Shiva (Art).  The post-production work is in full swing now and the official announcement regarding the audio and worldwide theatrical release will be made shortly.
