Nayanthara-RJ Balaji starrer Mookuthi Amman shooting commences

With a much spectacular announcement, Mookuthi Amman directed by RJ Balaji had created an instant sensation. Apparently, the film was launched this morning (November 29, 2019) with a ritual ceremony at Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanyakumari followed by commencement of shooting at Nagercoil.  The first leg of shooting will be held here at Nagercoil and Nayanthara will be joining the crew sooner.

Grish Gopalakrishnan who shot to fame for his musical score in “Aval” and music director of Nayanthara’s upcoming film “Netrikann” is composing music for Mookuthi Amman. Dinesh Krishnan of Thaanaa Serndha Koottam fame is handling cinematography and Stunt Silva is choreographing stunts. Selva RK of Pariyerum Perumal fame is taking care of editing and costumes are designed by Divya Nagarajan and Anu Vardhan with Vijayakumar as the art director.

RJ Balaji, who will be sharing the screen space with Nayanthara, has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for ‘Mookuthi Amman’ apart from directing it along with NJ Saravanan. Following the hat-trick success of LKG, Comali and Puppy, Dr. Ishari K Ganesh is producing this film for Vels Film International.

Tanishq’s new TVC film with Nayanthara celebrates glittering gold & abundant auspiciousness

Tanishq, India’s trusted jewellery brand has launched a new TVC campaign targeting its large customer base in Tamil Nadu.  The new TVC, featuring Southern super star and face of Tanishq South, Nayanthara will showcase Tanishq’s strong understanding of the consumer, culture and customs from a local perspective. This new TVC campaign aims to bring alive that Tanishq is at the heart of every auspicious celebration, which is rooted deep within the cultural context of Tamil Nadu.

Conceptualized with Lowe, the 60-second film has Nayanthara joining the celebration in different occasions – first birthday of a child, baby shower and golden wedding anniversary. To add more local flavor, the eclectic montage is set to the tune of ‘Kummi adi’, a traditional Tamil folk song which is an integral part of all celebrations from weddings to smaller ceremonies at home.

Sivakarthikeyan-Nayanthara starrer ‘Mr. Local’ Press Meet

The much anticipated film of this summer season “Mr. Local” featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara in lead roles is all set for worldwide release on May 17, 2019. The entire cast and crew was present today for the pre-release event. Here are some of the excerpts from the event. 

B. Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory said, “Earlier, I had the opportunity of looking in to the business of Sivakarthikeyan’s first collaboration with K.E. Gnanavel Raja in ‘Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga’. After the film’s success, I have been personally monitoring the growth of business for Sivakarthikeyan sir’s movies, which is turning into incredible numbers. With the songs and trailer getting good reception for ‘Mr. Local’, I am sure this will be a sure-footed summer delight for the family audiences.”

Choreographer Dinesh said, “I have been working with Rajesh from his first movie. I still remember the time when I met Sivakarthikeyan brother. It was during the time, I won National awards and he actually compeered for the Vijay Awards, where I was present. From that point of time till now despites the huge success he has tasted, he remains the same with humbleness and down to earth.” 

Actor Robo Shankar said, “Rajesh sir movies are usually catering to the tastes of family audiences. I am so much happy that Sivakarthikeyan is just the same as he was in his early days. This earnest nature will definitely escalate him to greater heights. Hiphop Aadhi has become the sensation of masses through his constant Chartbuster albums. Already, the songs from Mr. Local have become super hits.” 

Mirchi Vijay said, “I have written a song in Mr. Local and am so happy to be a part of this project. Penning lyrics for Hiphop Aadhi is always easy for he would have already come up with some lyrics while composing the song.” 

Music director Hiphop Aadhi said, “I got acquainted with K.E. Gnanavel Raja sir during the times of Indru Netru Naalai. Now I am happy to be working for Mr. Local, which is produced by him. Director Rajesh sir is always different and unique in his approach, which makes our job comfortable. He is always focused on what he wants and this makes us refrain from unwanted works and focus on what we have decided. I am composing music for Sivakarthikeyan for the first time and this is a special moment for me as my brother-friend Anirudh has crooned a track. Although, he has played the lead role, Sivakarthikeyan has amused with his hilarious episodes in this movie.” 

Producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja said, “I met and got friendly with him during the days of Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. He has never changed a bit till now. This yesteryear film might have become a hit due to multi-starrer factor, but he has now upgraded himself to a greater business of giving hits as solo hero, which is remarkable. After the great iconic T. Rajendran sir, it’s Hiphop Aadhi, who is getting so much credits to his work as multi-faceted personality. I can never forget the help that Sivakarthikeyan brother has done. He had accepted to do this film at a crucial point of time and I will never forget this forever.” 

Director Rajesh said, “As soon as we started discussing about the project, K.E. Gnanavel Raja sir insisted me to give a hit movie. Usually, my movies would have scenes involving boozing, ridiculing girls after love failure through song, etc. But the first thing that Sivakarthikeyan brother told me was to avoid these factors. This prompted me to work much focused and Mr. Local will not have such things. This will be an out and out family entertainer, which will be liked and appreciated by universal audiences. If everyone is in awe about the huge star-cast with great actors, Sivakarthikeyan is the ultimate reason behind it. I am usually a person, who always avoids negativity and so happens to be Hiphop Aadhi, which made our work easier. Nayanthara mam liked the script so much and she immediately decided to be a part of this film. I am sure Mr. Local will be a splendid entertainer for this summer season.” 

Actor Sivakarthikeyan said, “Mr. Local is a simple entertainer. I have a connection with Rajesh sir from the time, I worked in television channel. I was asked to dub for a particular shot in the voice of Rajinikanth in between a song in ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’. I would like to tell that Rajesh sir was the main reason behind setting up the film ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’. I was curiously looking up to work with him from that point of time and finally it has happened through this Mr. Local. I am sharing the screen space with Nayanthara madam for the second time after ‘Velaikkaran’. I was slightly disappointed that being a great artiste, she didn’t have a good scope in that movie to perform. In Mr. Local, she will be seen from the 15th minute and will be appearing throughout the film. When signing Hiphop Aadhi for the film, I was slightly doubtful, which might look funny that if he would take all the good songs and store it up for his movies. However, he has been a perfectionist in knowing the content and delivering the songs accordingly. These days, many don’t talk about problems openly in the industry and K.E. Gnanavel Raja sir happens to be an exception, where he has admitted certain things. From now onwards, I will be meeting the press and media often for my movies. Fans are my biggest strength and their encouragements keep propelling me to a good extent.”

Capturing our hearts with scintillating songs and visual promos, Nayanthara starrer ‘Airaa’ is all set to have a worldwide theatrical release on March 28. During this juncture, the crew comprising of Music director Sundaramurthy KS, actor Kalaiarasan and director Sarjun were present for a short and crisp media interaction with press and media. Here are some of the excerpts from the event. 

 

Music director Sundaramurthy KS has wowed the music lovers with his mellifluous and enjoyably packaged album. However, he rendered very few words of appreciation with just thanks to everyone in the team for giving him an opportunity to be a part of this film. Of course, best musicians have always been people with few words for their songs speak loud about their hard work. 

Next it was actor Kalaiarasan, who said, “Soon after my film ‘Madras’, many have been consistently asking me why I am not doing any movies as such. Of course, I am unceasingly looking up for such projects. Soon after Madras, I started working on films with my friends. Some of them became hits while others couldn’t make a long run.  Sarjun and I were supposed to work together in the film ‘Echcharikkai’, which didn’t happen due to some reasons. I was slightly disappointed for not getting an opportunity to work with him, but I got a call for Airaa, where he asked me if I can do a particular character in this movie. I would say that more than a horror film, Airaa has an emotional angle too. Everything including the look and feel of this film will have a fresh appeal.” 

Filmmaker Sarjun MK said, “I enjoyed working through each and every process in this film. In particular, I was really happy with the way, we filmed the back and white portions and Megadhootham song. Well, Airaa isn’t just about these elements, but there are lots to enjoy. One portion of the film will have spine-chilling and enjoyable moments while the other one would be serious and emotional. We have tried delivering a wholesome entertainer, where audiences will have something to takeaway home. I am so much thankful and owe a lot to couple of people, who have been the main pillars of Airaa. It’s KJR Studios Rajesh sir. I met him first to narrate the script and next time I saw him was for the first copy screening. He didn’t even ask a single question or any update about the project, but he kept providing us whatever we asked for. Sometimes, even I would ask him to drop few ideas keeping budget in mind, but he never wanted to compromise with the quality and provided us with essential things. Nayanthara mam has been a great support to the film. She has essayed dual roles, which are not connected in any way and we had to work a lot in scripting for this. More than all, Nayanthara madam’s distinct and diversified performance in different roles helped us achieve what we actually wanted. I am sure Airaa will be a good treat for audiences.”
