AN APPEAL TO ALL ACTORS AND TECHNICIANS

 

Dear All,

 

Tamil Cinema is undergoing several challenging situations due to the impact of Corona. Producers, who invested crores of rupees are facing a difficult situation to recover their investment. With most of the rights like satellite, digital/OTT, overseas, dubbing and Tamil Nadu theatrical rights etc., not being sought by buyers for most films, Producers are unable to pay back even the interest payment to the lenders. 

 

In this situation, it is the responsibility of all actors and technicians to come forward and help the Producers, whose films are under production and are stuck due to this lockdown. The Producers can manage to come out of this trying condition and release their films smoothly, only if their total investment in films reduce by at least 40 to 50%. Only then, even if their films do not fetch big revenues, they can come out without much loss. 

 

 

 

In both Telugu and Malayalam film industries, all artistes and technicians have come forward and accepted 30 to 50% reduction in their current salaries. In Tamil cinema, a few actors have come forward to reduce their salaries by 30%, considering the difficult situation of their Producers. While we appreciate their kind gesture, it is not enough. Only when all the actors, actresses and technicians, who get a remuneration of Rs.10 Lakhs and above come forward and accept a reduction of 30% in their salaries, Producers can reduce their overall cost, complete their films and release them without any financial difficulty.

 

We are making this request only for the films which were under production and are stuck due to Covid-19 and not for new films, which you are signing and commencing, for which you and the Producers may decide on appropriate remuneration. For the films, which were stuck for over 6 months due to this pandemic, we are making this request.

 

Considering the difficult situation of the Producers, whose films are stuck, on behalf of Tamil Film Active Producers Association, we request all the actors and technicians, who earn more than Rs.10 Lakhs as the salary for their films, to accept this 30% reduction in salary and complete the films to release them, when the theatres open soon.

இதோ இந்த நீண்ட லாக்டவுனுக்கு பிறகு அனைத்து துறைகளும் செயல்பட ஆரம்பிக்கும் ஆனால் பைனான்ஸ் வாங்கி இடையில் லாக்டவுனினால் நின்று போயிருக்கும் , ரிலிஸ் நேரத்தில் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு இனி எப்போது ரிலிஸ் தேதி கிடைக்கும் என போராடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் திரைப்படங்களின் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் நிலைமை எப்போதும் போல பரிதாபதக்குரியது தான் , நடிகர் , நடிகைகள் , டெக்னிசியன்கள் அனைவருக்கும் வேலை கிடைத்துவிடும் சம்பளமும் கிடைத்துவிடும் ஆனால் முதலீடு செய்யும் முதலாளிகள் நிலைமை ...

இதற்கு ஒரு முற்றுபுள்ளி வராதா, எங்கள் பாரங்களை தோளோடு தோள் சேர்த்து தூக்கி செல்ல யாரும் வரமாட்டார்களா என நாங்கள் யோசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் போது தமிழ்சினிமாவின் தற்போது தவிர்க்க இயலாத ஹீரோ விஜய் ஆண்டனி அவர்கள் தாமாகவே முன்வந்து தனது சம்பளத்தில் 25% வேண்டாம் என அறிவித்து அவர் நடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் நெஞ்சில் பாலை வார்த்துள்ளார் 

ஒரு நடிகராக மட்டுமல்லாமல் தயாரிப்பாளராகவும் , நல்ல மனிதராகவும் இருப்பதால் மட்டுமே திரு.விஜய் ஆண்டனி அவர்கள் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சார்பாக யோசித்து எங்கள் வலியை உணர்ந்து இப்படி ஒரு நல்ல அறிவிப்பை அறிவித்துள்ளார் 

இதன் மூலம் சில கோடிகளை அவர் இழக்கலாம் , ஆனால் பல கோடி நெஞ்சங்களில் நிலைத்துவிட்டார் , கொரானாவிற்கு பின் வரும் கடின காலக்கட்டங்களில் சினிமாத்துறை என்ன ஆகும் ? எப்படி இந்த இழப்புகளில் இருந்து முன்னேறும் என்ற அனைவரும் கலங்கி நிற்கும் போது ஒரு வழிகாட்டியாக , ஒரு முன்மாதிரியாக விஜய் ஆண்டனி தற்போது வெளிவந்துள்ளார் , இவரைபோல மற்ற அனைத்து நடிகர், நடிகைகள் ,டெக்னிசியன்கள் அனைவரும் இதைபோல சம்பளத்தை குறைத்து பாரத்தை தயாரிப்பாளருடன் தோளில்  சுமந்து செல்ல தயாராக இருந்தால் எந்த இடர் வரினும் தமிழ்சினிமா வீழாது, பீனிக்ஸ் போல எழுந்து நிற்கும் 

இது நாம் ஒன்றினையும் நேரம் , எங்களுக்காக தோள் கொடுத்திருக்கும் விஜய் ஆண்டனி அவர்களுக்கு அனைத்து தயாரிப்பாளர்களின் சார்பில் ஒரு பெரும் நன்றியை தெரிவிததுக்கொள்கிறேன்

Vijay Antony’s Magnanimous Gesture to Support his Producers'

Vijay Antony, one of the Popular heroes of Tamil cinema who recently gave a Hit in ‘Kolaigaran’ also has substantial reach even among Telugu audience. His films are a big hit in Television whenever they are telecast. His film Pichaikkaran holds the top TRP rating in Television viewing. His recent film Thimiru Pudichavan scored viewers impressions (13.11 Million) next only to Darbar and Seemaraja when it was telecast on 14th April 2020.

Vijay Antony is currently busy in acting in three films namely Tamizharasan for Producer FEFSI Shiva, Agni Siragugal for Amma Creations T. Siva and Khaki for Director Senthil Kumar of Open Theatre and Infiniti Film Ventures. All these three films are in various stages of completion and gearing up for release soon.

As Tamil cinema got affected due to Corona lock down from March 2020, the completion and release of these three films were delayed by three months and by the time these film’s release, it may take another three to four months. Considering the loss that will be incurred by these three Producers, with a view to support them to overcome from this situation, Vijay Antony came forward and offered 25% reduction in his salary for these three films. With this support, he is confident the Producers will be able to bring down their overall cost and ensure these three films have a smooth release.

Commenting on this magnanimous gesture, Producer Amma Creations T. Siva stated that, “It is very kind of Vijay Antony to accept salary reduction considering the situation we are in due to the lock down for over 50 days and the further delay expected in releasing the films. We request that all actors and technicians should also come forward and accept reduced salaries so that the overall cost of all the current film producers reduces to tide over the crisis all of us are all facing currently. By accepting this reduction in the agreed salary, Vijay Antony is becoming an example for being a good Producer’s Actor and we wish him all the success in his future films.” Other Two Film Producers have also wholeheartedly welcomed this ‘voluntary salary reduction support’
offered by Vijay Antony.
