 Here’s what Permanent Roommates star Sumeet Vyas and the Telugu remake, Commit Mental star, Udbhav Raghunandan talk about the central character

They are releasing the official remake of their beloved web-series Permanent Roommates, which started Sumeet Vyas and Nidhi Singh, in Telugu as Commit Mental.

 

YouTube sensation Udbhav Raghunandan, who will be seen portraying the character of
Phani in the Telugu remake, shared that he is a fan of the original series ever since it was released. He shared, “When I first watched Permanent Roommates, I instantly became a fan, especially of Sumeet Vyas’ character. His portrayal of Mikesh Chaudhary was flawless. So when the script of CommitMental was offered to me, I had my concerns. Mikesh is known for his innocence, relentless persuasion and perfect comic timings. Getting his comic timing right was the hardest part. I wanted the audience to love Phani, which is why I wrote a backstory for him. I hope the audience showers their love and acceptance to Phani as they did have with Mikesh.”

Talking about how Permanent Roommates started the era of web-series in India, Sumeet Vyas shared, "My journey in the entertainment industry has been quiet a ride. After having done TV & Films I was introduced to digital medium when TVF reached out to me for a show on web. No one had made any web show till then, but Permanent Roommates was a brilliant script & excited the actor in me. The show and my character Mikesh will always be close to my heart because not only did TVF & Permanent Roommates start the culture of web-series in India, but it also put me on a new ride ahead. The relatable characters and hilarious nok-jhok between the leads transcended the language barriers amongst our audiences. Now that the Telugu remake of the show has released, I'm confident that CommitMental too will wow the fans. Udbhav Raghunandan has impressed the audience with his YouTube persona and I'm quite confident that he will do justice to the character of Mikesh which is Phani in Commitmental."

CommitMental stars Udbhav Raghunandan and Punarnavi Bhupalam as Phani and Anu, a couple who after being in a long-distance relationship, face the prospect of marriage. Directed by Pavan Sadineni and helmed by TVF, the web-series has premiered on Aha on November 14, 2020.

‘Date With Saie’ starring renowned actress Saie Tamhankar. 

While the web series is called ‘Date With Saie’, it is actually the story of an obsessed film maker who stalks Saie and shoots a film featuring her, secretly. Why is he doing so?

The trailer gives you an idea of the different shades of Saie’s character as well as 

Rohit Kokate’s, who plays the obsessive film maker. It takes you through spine-chilling scenes and shows how far can obsession take an individual and its nothing short of shocking and eerie.

Web series Tandoori Bhabhi will hit the floor soon

Web series Tandoori Bhabhi aka Mrs Savita Bhabhi aka Mrs Savita Sharma Will Hit the Floor in Sept

For those of you who are wondering whatever happened to the Shilpa Shinde-Angoori Bhabhi spoof web series, there is some good news. An entertainment website released images and sketches of the new look (see here) of  Savita Bhabhi which will soon be made into a web series and is expected to go live by the end of September.

According to a report, the producers Spectra Multimedia had in December last year announced a web-series and Tv show based on the subject, which was shelved after a few episodes were shot.

The reason being the financial crunch in the market and few takers for the show in India.

Now, if sources are to be believed, the makers of the show Spectra Multimedia have teamed up with director Maneesh Singh and Vrindaavan Films to revive the project, claims a media report, but with a few changes.

While the 'tandoori bhabhi' tag remains, the show will no longer be a spoof on Shilpa Shinde's 'Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai'. It will be a different show completely with new inputs and creatives, director Maneesh Singh told this news portal.

The characters have also changed. The earlier cast has been shunted out and now the lead role of 'tandoori bhabhi' aka Mrs Savita Bhabhi aka Mrs Savita Sharma will be played by Neha Shah, Singh told us.

Neha Shah's character is called Tandoori Bhabhi - a slang she has earned in the vicinity of her residence due to her penchant for wearing figure-hugging, transparent saris.

Earlier, producer Amrit Kumar Shah had said the web series was a spoof on the by-now immensely popular Bhabhiji show thanks to Bigg Boss winner Shilpa Shinde.

The main lead plays the role of a sexy Bhabhi with a twist - this Bhabhi always wears a multicolored bikini under her sari and more often than not ends up accidentally revealing parts of her bikini.

Producer Amrit Kumar Shah has bowed out of the project, which has been taken over by Maneesh Singh.

While all this remains in the re-designed series, there will be a sprinkling of some 'inspirational scenes' from the internationally famous comic character Savita Bhabhi as well. This will make the show hotter, director Maneesh Singh revealed, adding that this time the character draws more inspiration from Gulfam Kali, rather than Angoori Bhabhi.

The shoot will commence after the Ganapati festival is over in Mumbai, Maneesh Singh said. 

All the male residents of Golla Nagar, the men, women and children included - the nukkad where Tandoori Bhabhi lives are big fans of Tandoori Bhabhi and never miss an opportunity to meet up with the sexy Bhabhi.

The lecherous part of the series doesn’t end here. Much like Vibhuti Narayan Mishra aka Nalla from the TV show (played by Aashif Sheikh), all the male residents of this fictitious society are always hungry to have a rendezvous with the Bhabhi and do crazy things to catch up with Bhabhi. 

The internet, ironically, is already home to another Bhabhi – Savita Bhabhi – infamous for its soft porn content. Tandoori Bhabhi will pick up a few scenes from this cartoon character as well..
