*The Love Received in Madurai… Expectations Rise for ‘Lenin Pandian’!*
Sathya Jyothi Films, one of the leading production houses in Tamil cinema, known for producing quality films and bringing diverse stories to the screen over the years, is all set to present its upcoming film ‘Lenin Pandian’. Directed by debutant filmmaker D.D. Balachandran, the film marks the debut of actor Dhaarshan Ganesan, grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, as a lead actor. Centred around illegal sand mining, the film explores the lives of ordinary people and their rights, rooted in the way of life of our soil.
With ‘Lenin Pandian’ gearing up for its theatrical release on September 25, the promotional activities for the film are currently happening on a wide scale. The team has been travelling to different places, meeting audiences and theatre representatives as part of the promotions. As a part of this, lead actor Dhaarshan Ganesan visited Madurai for the film’s promotional activities. The warm response he received from fans and the people of Madurai has given the entire team an added boost.
Speaking about the reception he received in Madurai, Dhaarshan Ganesan said, “The first film I am acting in under the production of Sathya Jyothi Films, ‘Lenin Pandian’, is releasing on the 25th of this month. I have come to Madurai today as part of my first outstation promotional visit. Madurai, its people and the reception I received here were all amazing.”
Dhaarshan also said that he could personally feel the love and affection that the people of Madurai have had for legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan and his family for several decades. He added that experiencing the same affection being showered on him was deeply emotional. “Madurai is the land of valour. It is the land of Goddess Meenakshi. I am extremely happy that my artistic journey has begun from such a place,” he said.
Dhaarshan recalled that several people who met him spoke about their long-standing association with different generations of his family. “Many people told me, ‘We were with your grandfather, we were with your father, we were with your uncle, we were with your brother… and we will definitely be with you too.’” He also revealed that some people told him, “You look exactly like him,” referring to his grandfather Sivaji Ganesan.
According to Dhaarshan, those words brought him happiness, but at the same time, they also placed a much greater responsibility on his shoulders. He said that he understands that responsibility and will put in every effort to prove himself as a good actor. Many people met him in Madurai, took photographs, shared their affection and assured him that they would definitely watch ‘Lenin Pandian’, he added.
The meeting, held on September 19 at Sugapriya Theatre in Madurai, will remain in his heart as a beautiful beginning to his artistic journey, Dhaarshan said. He also expressed his gratitude to the manager of Sugapriya Theatre and everyone present there for welcoming and appreciating the team with warmth. “Madurai has not just given me a beginning; it has also given me confidence. I am continuing my journey with that confidence,” he said.
‘Lenin Pandian’ features Dhaarshan Ganesan alongside multi-talented artist Gangai Amaran in a prominent role. Actress Roja is making her return to the screen after a long gap with this film. Shrita Rao plays an important role, while George Marian, Aadukalam Naren, Yugendran, Jayaprakash, Bose Venkat, Ilavarasu and Bigg Boss Archana are also part of the cast. (Pentagan Media)
