Akshara Haasan signs Trend Loud’s First Feature Film

Being a top-drawer in understanding the pulse of the female audience, who are the major occupants of the television box, it is now creating an Original Feature Film, with a female-centric theme starring Akshara Haasan in the lead. The film is written and directed by Raja Ramamurthy, who earlier shot to fame for his web series titled 'America Mappillai' on ZEE5 which was based on the LGBTQ community, the first of its kind in Tamil.

Speaking about this Original Feature Film, Director Raja Ramamurthy says, “The story revolves around a girl from a conservative family who is in that awkward stage between being a curious teenager and a smart woman. She struggles to strike a balance between societal expectations and personal desires. This is a female-centric film in the truest sense not just because of its concept but because the cast and crew are predominantly women, this was a conscious decision to capture the essence of the ‘female gaze’.

The protagonist’s role will be extremely relatable to the millennial audience and I’m elated to have Akshara Haasan play it. Akshara Haasan is all set to surprise the audience with an exhilarating performance in a character that she’s never played before. We are thrilled to unveil the film’s first-look on September 14th, 2020.

SonyLIV 2.0 announces its content line-up

SonyLIV 2.0 announces its content line-up for the first month, opening with the original series ‘Your Honor’

With a refreshed brand identity, SonyLIV is all set to bring forth an array of original content ranging from thrilling fictional narratives to real-life incidents and many more. Challenging the predominant beliefs of morality and ethics, SonyLIV’s very first original content titled Your Honor, a dark and morally complex thriller, is all set to go live on 18^th June.

Your Honor is adapted from the Israeli series Kvodo, distributed by Yes Studios, has been produced for Applause Entertainment by Sphereorigins and is directed by the National-award winning director, E.Niwas. Life was good for an upright, honest and reputed judge Bishan Khosla until he found himself facing a life altering situation. His only son gets involved in a hit-and-run case. While Bishan is about to turn in his son to the police, he learns about the victim's identity. Will judge Khosla, the man of honor, choose to put everything at stake to overrule the system?

Oscillating between the complexities of morality and ethics, Jimmy Sheirgill brings to life the agony of Bishan Khosla in this thriller. Joining Jimmy Sheirgill in this enticing new offering are renowned actors like Mita Vashisht, Varun Badola, Yashpal Sharma, Parul Gulati, Suhasini Mulay, Richa Pallod, Kunj Anand, Pulkit Makol, and Mahabir Bhullar.

Offering a power-packed monsoon binge, SonyLIV also releases Manoj Bajpayee’s critically acclaimed film Bhonsle alongwith a dark comedy Kadakh starring Ranvir Shorey. The english shows For Life and Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector also make their Indian debut on the platform. While the former is inspired from a true story, the latter is a thriller adapted from the book “The Bone Collector” by Jeffery Deaver.

Talking about the show, Jimmy Sheirgill, Lead Actor, Your Honor said, “As an actor, I don’t think I want to restrict myself in exploring different avenues. The script becomes an important aspect for me while choosing the project that I am getting involved with. Your Honor is one such project that I am proud of. For the first time I will be seen essaying the character of a judge. The profession itself has not got its due in mainstream cinema and it was an interesting role for me to pursue. The intense narrative of the show is not just gripping but also brings out the emotional complexities of the characters beautifully.”

Touted as the golden era of Bollywood, these are songs we can listen to on loop. In a unique offering to revisit those musical gems and give a treat to aficionados, SonyLIV brings its first ever unscripted original, LIV Shout Out, hosted by digital debutant Aditya Narayan.

Premiering this Valentine’s Day, the 10-episode series will redefine our love for evergreen Bollywood hits with fresh voices from Indian Idol paying tribute to Bollywood’s musical legends coupled with some unheard secrets. LIV Shout Out will have two episodes going live every Thursday for the next 5 weeks starting 14th February 2020.

Startled at the sudden disappearance of his wife Geetha, Viktor an astute cop gets cracking on the case. Produced for Applause Entertainment by Pramod Cheruvalath’s Sign of Life Productions, the show which means ‘bipolar’ is directed and written by M Kumaran. The show begins with a series of horrific murders that put the city in a state of shock and chaos overnight. It turns out to be the work of a serial killer who quotescouplets from the“Thirukkural” (a classic Tamil text)as clues, leaving everyone at sixes and sevens. Inspector David Viktor, a hawk-eyed cop is assigned to hunt down the killer. But what happens when the hunter himself becomes a prey?
