IndiGo repatriated over 650 Indian

 IndiGo repatriated over 650 Indian nationals from Middle-East on 4 charter flights

In its endeavour to support the nation and bring Indian citizens back to the country, IndiGo operated four special international charter flights on June 09, 2020 including three from Qatar and one from UAE, to bring back 546 citizens back to India. The IndiGo flight 6E 9076 transferred 210 passengers from Doha to Mumbai, flight 6E 9431 transported 168 passengers from Doha to Mumbai, flight 6E 9438 transferred 168 passengers from Doha to Kolkata and flight 6E 9245 carried 120 passengers from Dubai to Lucknow. The charter flights were operated while observing all precautionary measures and safety guidelines.

 IndiGo operated special charter flights from UAE, Oman and Maldives to repatriate more than 1K stranded Indian nationals

In its endeavour to support the nation and bring Indian citizens back to the country, IndiGo operated six special international charter flights since the beginning of June. The IndiGo flight 6E 9092 from Male to Delhi transferred a total of 171 passengers on June 03 and June 04; flight 6E 9174 from Dubai to Delhi brought back 170 Indian citizens on June 04. On June 05, flight 6E 9235 from Muscat to Lucknow and flight 6E 9972 from Muscat to Gaya transferred 167 and 166 passengers respectively and on June 06 an IndiGo flight transferred 177 passengers from Muscat to Kozhikode. The charter flights were operated while observing all precautionary measures and safety guidelines.

The repatriation flights assisted in seamless and safe return total 1,022 Indian citizens, including 170 from UAE, 342 from Maldives, and 510 from Muscat.

IndiGo operated special flights to transfer

IndiGo operated special flights to transfer 197 stranded Kenyan citizens to Mumbai for their flight to Nairobi

In its endeavour to support the nation and stranded passengers, IndiGo operated two special relief flights for Kenyan Nationals in India. The IndiGo flight from Delhi-Ahmedabad-Mumbai transferred total 114 passengers while the flight from Chennai-Bangalore-Hyderabad-Mumbai transferred 83 passengers to Mumbai, for their return flight. The Charter was initiated by Kenya Embassy and the flights were operated while observing all precautionary measures.

Mr. Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to contribute in the evacuation efforts for Kenyan nationals from across the country to Mumbai, from where they were flown to Nairobi by Kenyan Airways. The Charter was initiated in coordination with the Kenyan consulate and the Indian government, to help the citizens reach the Mumbai airport from various cities including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. We are grateful to the government for allowing IndiGo to operate these repatriation flights, which contributed to the return of stranded Kenyan Nationals to their homes safely. We will continue to contribute to the country in every way possible.

On the occasion, H.E. Willy Kipkorir Bett, High Commissioner of Kenya to India said, “We partnered with IndiGo to facilitate the mobilization of our Kenyan citizens from various cities in the country to Mumbai. I would like to take this opportunity to thank IndiGo and to say that they executed the mobilization in the most professional manner, right from discussing the special requirements for passengers (patients), to ensuring safety measures for COVID-19 like social distancing. Keep up the good work!”

The operations assisted in seamless transfer of 75 citizens from Delhi, 39 from Ahmedabad, 23 from Chennai, 28 from Bengaluru and 32 from Hyderabad, to Mumbai, from where they were flown to Nairobi on a Kenyan Airways flight.
