 Actress Haripriya’s edge-of-seat thriller ‘Mask’  Aadhiraajan’s production and directorial venture titled ‘Mask’

Filmmaker Aadhiraajan, whose directorial ventures like Silandhi, Ranathanthra (Kannada) have gained him groovy reception followed by decent expectations for his forthcoming movies ‘Aruva Sanda’ and ‘Ninaivellam Neeyada’ that features a musical score by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja gears up for his next directorial titled ‘Mask’. Apart from writing and directing, Aadhiraajan is producing this movie as well.

Actor Vijaya Raghavendra, the brother-in-law of Late Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, who had won the National award for his stellar performance in his childhood phase itself, is playing the lead role. 

Haripriya, one of the leading actresses in the Kannada and Telugu industry, who is currently performing the female lead character in Sasikumar’s upcoming film ‘Common Man’ is playing the heroine’s character.

She will be exhibiting her prowess in performances, and turning the spotlight with a newfangled glamorous appeal in this movie. Apart from these brilliant actors, the others in the star cast include4 Aishwarya, Vishal Hegde, and many others.

Cinematography Rajesh K Narayanan, who owns a fabulous array of successful movies for his visual magic is cranking the camera.

Music director M Karthik, who has composed music for ‘Silandhi’ and many Telugu movies is collaborating with director Aadhiraajan again. It is worth mentioning that he has created unique magic with his background score in this movie.

 Editor Srikanth Gowda of India’s biggest blockbuster ‘KGF’ fame is handling editing for this movie.

 M.R. Raja Krishnan, who has done sound mixing for many epical movies including Mohanlal’s ‘Maraikkayar’, is handling sound mixing for this movie as well.

The lyrics are penned by Sneghan and Aadhiraajan.

Currently, the postproduction work is happening in full swing.

Shedding lights on ‘Mask’, director Aadhiraajan says, “Women across Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, and Madurai are mysteriously murdered in the same pattern. The police department is perplexed to bring a conclusion whether it’s murder, suicide, or something involving supernatural elements. As the investigation intensifies, the mystery gets unraveled with a shocking revelation. The screenplay is intensely set around the theme of women getting into trouble with the privilege of extreme freedom. The film’s climax ends at an unpredictable angle.

Six digital cameras have been used to shoot this movie.

The movie has been shot across Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, and Goa.

The film will be a wholesome treat for the diehard fans of thriller movie genres.”

Witnessing grand success with Venkat Prabhu-Silambarasan TR duo’s blockbuster ‘Maanaadu’, producer Suresh Kamatchi of V House Production is currently involved in the production of a myriad projects including Ram’s directorial starring Nivin Pauly and Anjali in the lead characters.

Besides, he is producing yet another project titled ‘Jiivi-2’ that has completed the entire work in silent manner.

Jiivi starring Vetri and Karunakaran in the lead characters got released in 2019, and won the critical acclaims and appreciations of critics, audiences and film fraternity.

The film’s sequel titled ‘JIIVI-2’ directed by VJ Gopinath is getting materialized.

The story premise of Jiivi is based on the Triangle Theory that involves the connection between a series of events that happened in someone’s life repeating again for another person in a different place. The protagonist realizing this situation, and attempting to stop the chain of events formed the crux of Jiivi.

“By the end of movie, the protagonist’s friend asks whether the triangle theory has ended or will continue to exist. This is where the story of Jiivi-2 commences.

Did the Triangle theory start having its impact on Protagonist again?

If that’s situation, what are the problems he is going to face?

Does the protagonist use his intelligence to find solution to all these upheavals? We have tried presenting all these moments together in Jiivi-2,” says director VJ Gopinath.

Babu Tamizh had written the story and dialogues for Jiivi-1.

Director VJ Gopinath shares the interesting facts that contributed towards the materialization of Jiivi-2.

He says, “Soon after the success of Jiivi, I was supposed to work with Vishnu Vishal, and had even got an approval for the story. However, the heavy impact of pandemic phase turned everything upside down for a past couple of years. With his couple of projects pending and rescheduled, he requested me to do a quickie project. So that both of us can kick-start our project soon once we are done with the current works.

This is when Big Print Pictures IB Karthikeyan suggested me to give a try with the sequel to Jiivi. However, we had created the first part without any single thought about the sequel.

When I shared my thoughts about the sequel to writer Babu Tamizh, he conveyed that it’s not possible to conceive the plot. However producer Karthikeyan kept motivating me that it’s possible. I took 15 days of time, but eventually completed the story in a couple of days.”

 During that time, IB Karthikeyan got busy with the production works of his recent release ‘Clap’. When the buzz spread that VJ Gopinath has created a unique and interesting story for Jiivi-2, it got the Midas-touch of ‘Maanaadu’ producer Suresh Kamatchi.

Vetri, Karunakaran, Aswini Chandrashekar, Rama, Rohini, Mime Gopi, ‘Aruvi’ fame Thirunavukarasu, who played the titular roles in first part are reprising their characters in this second part as well.

 It’s same with the technical crew as Praveen Kumar (DOP), K.S. Sundaramoorthy (Music), and Praveen K.L. (Editing) are collaborating again for this movie.

 While the shooting of this film is already completed, the postproduction work is happening in full swing.

வெங்கட்பிரபு-சிம்பு கூட்டணியில் மாநாடு என்கிற மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றிப் படத்தை தயாரித்த சுரேஷ் காமாட்சியின் வி ஹவுஸ் புரொடக்சன் தற்போது ராம் இயக்கத்தில் நிவின்பாலி, அஞ்சலி நடிப்பில் உருவாகும் படத்தை தயாரித்து வருகின்றது.

அதேசமயம் இன்னொரு பக்கம் மாநாடு படத்திற்குப் பின் ஜீவி-2 என்கிற படத்தையும் சத்தமில்லாமல் தயாரித்து முடித்து விட்டது.

எங்கோ ஏதோ ஒரு இடத்தில் ஒருத்தர் வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்த நிகழ்வுகள் திரும்பவும் இன்னொரு இடத்தில் வேறு ஒருவருக்கு நடப்பதற்கு நிச்சயம் ஒரு தொடர்பு இருக்கும். அதைத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட நாயகன் அந்த நிகழ்வுகளைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்த முயற்சி செய்வார்.

 அவரால் அது முடிந்ததா என்பது தான் முதல் பாகத்தின் கதை..

இந்த தொடர்பியல் விதி அத்துடன் முடிந்து விட்டதா, இல்லை மீண்டும் தொடருமா என ஹீரோவின் நண்பன் கேட்கும் கேள்வியில் தான் இந்த  இரண்டாம் பாகத்தின் கதை தொடங்குகிறது.

மீண்டும் இவர்கள் வாழ்வில் தொடர்பியல் விதி விளையாடியதா..? அதன்மூலம் என்னென்ன பிரச்சனைகள் உருவாகின,?

அதையெல்லாம் நாயகன் தனது புத்திசாலித்தனத்தால் கண்டுபிடித்து அதை சரி செய்தாரா? என்பதை ஜீவி2-வில்  சொல்லியிருக்கிறோம் என்கிறார் இயக்குநர் VJ கோபிநாத்.

ஜீவி முதல் பாகத்தின் கதையையும் வசனத்தையும் கதாசிரியர் பாபு தமிழ் எழுதியிருந்தார்..

ஆனால் இந்த இரண்டாம் பாகத்திற்கான கதையை இயக்குநர் VJ கோபிநாத்தே எழுதியுள்ளார்.

இந்தப்படத்தின் இரண்டாம் பாகம் உருவாகக் காரணமான சுவராஸ்யமான சூழல் குறித்து கோபிநாத் நம்மிடம் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்..

"ஜீவி" படத்தின் வெற்றியை தொடர்ந்து நடிகர் விஷ்ணு விஷாலுக்காக ஒரு கதை எழுதி அவரிடம் ஒப்புதலும் வாங்கி இருந்தேன்.. ஆனால் கடந்த இரண்டு வருட காலத்தில் கொரோனா தாக்கம் எல்லாவற்றையும் புரட்டிப் போட்டு விட்டது.

 ஏற்கனவே தான்  நடித்து வந்த இரண்டு படங்களின் படப்பிடிப்பும் தாமதமாக, அதற்குள் சின்னதாக ஒரு படம் பண்ணிவிட்டு வந்து விடுங்களேன் எனக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார் விஷ்ணு விஷால்.

அப்போது தான் பிக் பிரிண்ட் பிக்சர்ஸ் கார்த்திகேயன் என்னிடம், நீங்கள் ஜீவி படத்தின் இரண்டாம் பாகத்திற்கான கதையை உருவாக்குங்கள் எனக் கூறினார்..

ஆனால் இரண்டாம் பாகத்திற்கான எந்த ஒரு யோசனையும் இல்லாமல் தான் முதல் பாகத்தை உருவாக்கி இருந்தோம்..

 கதாசிரியர் பாபு தமிழிடம் இந்த இரண்டாம் பாக ஐடியா பற்றி சொன்னபோது, நிச்சயமாக இரண்டாம் பாகத்திற்கான வாய்ப்பே இல்லை..

அதிலும் உடனடியாக கதை உருவாக்குவதற்கான சாத்தியமும் இல்லை எனக் கூறிவிட்டார்.. ஆனால் தயாரிப்பாளர் கார்த்திகேயன் விடாப்பிடியாக என்னை உற்சாகப்படுத்தவே, அவரிடம் 15 நாட்கள் அவகாசம் கேட்டு, ஆனால் இரண்டே நாட்களில் இந்தப்படத்தின் கதையை எழுதி முடித்தேன் என்கிறார் ..கோபிநாத்.

அந்த சமயத்தில் இவரை உற்சாகப்படுத்திய தயாரிப்பாளர் கார்த்திகேயன் சமீபத்தில் வெளியான கிளாப் படத்தை தயாரிப்பதில் பிஸியாக இருந்தார்,

மேலும் இயக்குநர் VJ கோபிநாத் ஜீவி-2 படத்திற்கான கதையை சுவாரஸ்யமாக உருவாக்கியுள்ளார் என செய்திகள் பரவ ஆரம்பிக்கவே., எதிர்பாராதவிதமாக "மாநாடு" படத் தயாரிப்பாளர் சுரேஷ் காமாட்சியின் கைகளுக்கு இந்த படம் சென்றது.

முதல் பாகத்தில் நடித்த வெற்றி, கருணாகரன், அஸ்வினி சந்திரசேகர், ரமா, ரோகிணி, மைம் கோபி, ‘அருவி’ திருநாவுக்கரசு என அனைவருமே இந்தப்படத்திலும் தொடர்கிறார்கள்.

அதேபோல ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் பிரவீண் குமார், இசையமைப்பாளர் கே.எஸ்.சுந்தரமூர்த்தி, படத்தொகுப்பாளர் பிரவீண் கே.எல் என அதே வெற்றி தொழில்நுட்பக் கூட்டணி தான் இந்தப்படத்திலும் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுகின்றனர்.

படப்பிடிப்பு முடிவடைந்து விட்ட நிலையில் தற்போது படத்தின் போஸ்ட் புரொடக்சன் பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

சைக்கோ த்ரில்லர் படங்களுக்கென ரசிகர்களிடம் எப்போதுமே தனி வரவேற்பு உண்டு.. காரணம் படம் முழுவதும் நாயகனுக்கும் வில்லனுக்கும் நடக்கும் நீயா நானா என்கிற கண்ணாமூச்சி ஆட்டம் படம் பார்க்கும் ரசிகர்களை இருக்கை நுனியிலேயே அமர வைத்திருக்கும். அவனி டெலி மீடியா சார்பாக திருமதி. குஷ்பூ சுந்தர் தயாரிக்க சுந்தர்.சி, ஜெய் நடித்துள்ள பட்டாம்பூச்சி திரைப்படம் அப்படி ஒரு அனுபவத்தை ரசிகர்களுக்கு நூறு சதவீதம் தரும் விதமாக உருவாகியுள்ளது.

அடுத்தடுத்து வெளியான இப்படத்தின் ஃபர்ஸ்ட் லுக் மற்றும் மோஷன் போஸ்டர், ஜெய், சுந்தர்சி இருவரின் கதாபாத்திர போஸ்டர்கள் இவற்றுடன் தற்போது வெளியாகியுள்ள இந்தப்படத்தின் டீசரும் அதை உறுதிப்படுத்தி உள்ளது. மேலும் இதற்குமுன் வெளியான சைக்கோ த்ரில்லர் படங்களில் இருந்து நிச்சயம் மாறுபட்ட படமாகவும் இது இருக்கும் என்றும் தெரிகிறது.

1980களில் நடக்கும் இந்த சைக்கோ திரில்லர் கதையில் சுந்தர்.சி அதிரடி போலீஸ் அதிகாரியாக நடிக்க, முதன்முறையாக சைக்கோ வில்லனாக ஜெய் நடித்துள்ளார். எட்டு வருட இடைவெளிக்கு பிறகு இந்தப்படத்தில் நாயகியாக நடித்திருப்பதன் மூலம் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் மறு பிரவேசம் செய்துள்ளார். நடிகை ஹனி ரோஸ் தற்போது வெளியாகியுள்ள டீசரும் இந்த மூன்று கதாபாத்திரங்களை மையப்படுத்தியே உருவாகியுள்ளது.

இவர்களுடன் இமான் அண்ணாச்சி, பேபி மானஸ்வி மற்றும் பலர் நடித்துள்ள இப்படத்தை எழுதி இயக்கியிருக்கிறார் இயக்குனர் பத்ரி. கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்ய நவநீத் சுந்தர் இசையமைத்துள்ளார். எடிட்டிங் பணிகளை பென்னி ஆலிவர் மேற்கொள்கிறார்.
