PANEL DISCUSSION ON ‘EMERGENCE OF OMICRON- CHALLENGES &
PREPAREDNESS’
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain
College for Women in collaboration with Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre &
Dhanvantari Nano Ayushadi Pvt. Ltd organized a panel discussion on ‘Emergence of
Omicron- Challenges & Preparedness’ on Wednesday, 29th December 2021 at 10.00 a.m. in
the college premises. The Guest speakers were Dr. Annamalai Periyanan, MBBS,
MCEM(UK),Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead Emergency Medicine, Dr. Rela Institute
& Medical Centre, Chennai, Dr. Aishwarya MBBS, MD (Pulmonary Medicine),
Consultant, Pulmonary Medicine, Heart and Lung Transplantation, Dr. Rela Institute &
Medical Centre, Chennai and Dr. Buvaneswari, MBBS, DGO, DNB (O.G), Dip.ALS
(Germany), AMRCOG (UK), Director Institute of Reproductive Medicine, Visiting
Consultant -Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Our Principal welcomed the gathering. She saluted all the healthcare workers for their untiring
work during the pandemic. Her speech was followed by Dr. Annamalai Periyanan, who
advised the public to follow covid appropriate behavior for the overall safety of the nation and
also emphasized the importance of vaccination. Dr. Aishwarya explained the challenges that she
came across during the Pandemic in her talk. She was followed by Dr. Buvaneswari who talked
about the Covid affected pregnant women and their health. The doubts raised by the audience
were clarified by the panelists and the program ended with the Vote of thanks delivered by student Aparna.
