The National Mathematics day celebration and the Inauguration

 The National Mathematics day celebration and the Inauguration of 
Mathematics Research Forum is scheduled to be held at the National 
Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NITT) on 22nd December 2021 
through Online. The National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 
December every year to celebrate the achievements of Srinivasa 
Ramanujan, a self-taught mathematician of incredible intelligence. The 
Department of Mathematics, NITT organizes events for a day-long 
celebration on 22nd December 2021. The chairperson and the head of the 
department Dr.V.Lakshmana Gomathi Nayagam welcome the Guests of honors.

The Director in-charge of NITT, Prof. Kannabiran presides over the 
function and delivers the presidential address. Prof. A. 
Sankaranarayanan from University of Hyderabad delivers the chief guest 
address and Mathematics Research Forum as a NITT club on this 
auspicious day of Srinivasa Ramanujan for motivating Engineering   
scholars and mathematics scholars to narrow down the space between 
Mathematics and Engineering real time Applications.Prof.R. Ramanujum, 
retired Professor from The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai 
delivers the inaugural lecture of the Mathematics Research Forum. In 
his talk on “Mathematics of Resource sharing”, he speaks on equitable 
division and its application to science and engineering. Deputy 
Director and Deans felicitate the function. Faculty members, Ph.D 
scholars and students of the institute take part in the celebration. 
In the afternoon session, a quiz competition is conducted for students 
and scholars. Winners of the competition are felicitated in the 
valedictory function.
