VELAMMAL STUDENT WINS THE TAMIL NADU
STATE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
Miss Savita Sri, Std X of Velammal Vidyalaya Mel Ayanambakkam has
emerged as the winner by bagging the first prize in Tamilnadu State
Online (U-20) Open Chess & Girls Championship - 2021 defeating her
opponents with a fabulous score of 9 out of 9, defeating her opponent
Jaya Sri, held online between 18th July and 19 th July, 2021
This stupendous win qualifies Miss Savita into the forthcoming National Junior Chess Championship 2021 representing TamilNadu between 25th July and 27th July 2021.
This online chess championship was organized by Sivakasi Chess Club, Virudhunagar on behalf of Virudhunagar District Chess Association & TamilNadu State Chess Association.
The 9 - round virtual tournament featured 47 participants across the state.
