Tiruchirappalli signed a MoU with Airport Authority of India (AAI)



NIT, Tiruchirappalli signed a MoU with Airport Authority of India (AAI)

National Institute of Technology, Trichy signed a memorandum of  
understanding with Airport Authority of India (AAI) on 16.1.2019,  
Wednesday to promote joint ventures for the development of innovative  
technologies for air traffic flow management and control.

The objective of this MoU is to develop a long term collaboration,  
wherein Parties agree to work together to arrive at mutually  
beneficial solutions for respective problem statements like Air  
Navigation Services/Airport related research and development  
activities which would in turn  support AAI in addressing aviation  
infrastructure and air traffic management challenges for the common  
good of Indian Economy.

Terming the partnership with AAI as a significant step in the history  
of NIT Trichy, its director, Prof. Mini Shaji Thomas, said it will  
offer Transfer of knowledge/skill to AAI experts by NIT-Trichy through  
specifically designed training programs in the areas of Air traffic  
flow management, future air navigation service, Air traffic management  
process re-engineering, Airport operations/Engineering solutions,  
Radar Signal Processing, Multisensor integration etc.,

Permitting research associates/ research scholars/ students of  
NIT-Trichy to support the research activities in AAI R&D Centre for  
mutually beneficial projects in terms of offering better research  
solutions to AAI and AAI providing a research platform for the  
NIT-Trichy researchers said K. Murali, Joint General Manager (ATM),  
Corporate Headquarters, AAI. Mr.K Gunasekaran, Director, Trichy  
Airport and Mr.  G.L.Lallu DGM (ATM), Trichy was also discussed about  
the possible collaboration opportunities in AAI.
