Swiggy joins hands with the Greater Chennai City Traffic Police to organize a four-day long traffic and road safety awareness program for its delivery partners

Swiggy, India’s leading convenience platform has partnered with the Greater Chennai City Traffic Police to organise a traffic and road safety awareness program for its delivery partners in the city. To be conducted over a span of four days, starting from 25th October, the program aims to increase the awareness and understanding of traffic rules, among the delivery partners, while sharing best practices to ensure a safer riding experience for everyone in the community.

The traffic awareness sessions will be conducted by Reserve Traffic Police Inspectors. The inaugural session took place in the presence of Mr. Pradip Kumar (IPS) Additional Commissioner of Police Traffic, Mrs. Senthil Kumari (IPS) Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic South, Mr. Surendranath, Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Planning, and Mr. A. Ganesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Traffic Planning.

Over the years, Swiggy has conducted drives in different cities across India in its commitment to enabling a safe working environment for its delivery fleet. All delivery partners at Swiggy are provided with insurance that protects them on the road. More recently, Swiggy introduced Emergency Support Services (ESS), which encompasses various options to cater to the needs of delivery partners during an emergency or mishap on the road. The ESS includes a 24*7 hotline number, emergency cards for delivery partners, and a direct link to the local police and ambulance service via an SOS button on the Delivery Partner app.

For Swiggy the safety and well-being of its delivery partners and the wider community are paramount. All delivery partners go through a road safety guidance module at the time of onboarding. The platform also conducts safety campaigns offering support and advice guidance throughout the year.
