National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli signed a MOU

National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli signed a MOU with TATA Steel Ltd., to promote joint ventures for the development of  innovative technologies across various departments of NIT, Trichy and  Tata Steel. The MoU envisages joint R&D projects over a period of  three years for the development of new technologies in various  
engineering domains.

The MOU was inked in the presence of Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas, Director, NIT Trichy and Mr. Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice president, HRM, TATA  Steel Ltd., to provide a formal basis for initiating interaction  through a Centre of Excellence (CoE) by Tata Steel at NIT, Trichy  facilitating innovation, entrepreneurship and exchange of faculty and  engagement of students.



Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas said that the partnership with TATA Steel has been a significant step in the history of NIT, Trichy. This association will enable an opportunity for us to  develop a talent pool among the students of NIT, Trichy that would  have the edge over others in terms of acquisition of advanced  
knowledge and become industry-ready.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice president,  TATA Steel Ltd., This MoU will initiate a multi-dimensional  partnership with NIT-Trichy, which will bolster our competitive edge  and develop next-gen engineering skills, not only within the company but also that of our academic partners with proficient faculty, in  
line with our vision & mission to create a future-ready organization. This partnership will bridge the gap between academic excellence and business requirements to create an industry-ready workforce. It is a  value addition for faculty and experiential learning for the students of NIT, Trichy.

Speaking on the Occasion, Mr. Prakash Singh, Chief Capability Development, TATA Steel Ltd.,added that TATA steel is the microcosm of communities with 30 subsidiaries that will create avenues nurtured to higher level of excellence across disciplines in NIT Trichy.
