Report
on 20th National
Power Systems Conference
NPSC -2018
The
National Power Systems Conference (NPSC) has been India's premier conference in
the area of power engineering since 1981. It is a biennial conference providing
a platform for researchers and engineers from Academia, Industry and Utility to
exchange their ideas, and experiences and present solutions found for actual
and future problems. National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, is
organizing
the “20th National Power Systems Conference- NPSC 2018”. It is being
hosted by the Department
of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NITT, Tamilnadu, India during14th-16th December 2018. This is the first time the
conference is organized in a NIT. The event is an excellent opportunity for fostering
academic and industrial collaborations in the power sector. The conference is
to be inaugurated by Prof.Saifur Rahman President, IEEE Power & Energy
Society, Director, Virginia Tech
Research Institute, Arlington, USA and Shri KVS
Baba, Chairman and managing Director, Power System Operation Corporation
(POSOCO) will be the guest of Honour of the conference.
The
main theme of NPSC 2018 is “Towards a Sustainable Energy
Future through Efficient, Smart and Green Technologies”, and
anticipated to be an engaging journey to bring out new perceptions in the realm
of state of art in power engineering for a sustainable energy future. The
conference offers prominent academics and industrial practitioners from all
over India to confer about the future of electrical energy and environmental
issues and presents a base for identifying directions for continuation of
research. The conference is scheduled in the following fashion, in the first
day tutorial on various themes in the
power system are going to be discussed by experts Dr. Ramakrishna Gokaraju,

along with paper presentation the keynote address is delivered by
experts from Dr.Venkataramana Ajjarapu, Iowa
State University, Dr. Bikash Pal, Imperial College London, Dr. Anurag K
Srivastava, Washington State University. In this forum keynote address
will be given by eminent speakers from various fields. Speakers and
participants from different parts of the world are going to be participated in
this conference said Prof. Mini Shaji Thomas, Director, NITT.
During interaction Prof.N.Ammasai
Gounden and Prof.C.Nagamani, Department of EEE, NITT informed that the
conference will feature various plenary talks, panel discussions on state of
art in power system technologies by eminent speakers from various IITs across
the country and will include paper presentations from Industries, Utilities and
R&D organizations. The areas in
