Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘I Am Game’ Set for September 3 Release; Big Global Release Planned*

Dulquer Salmaan’s highly anticipated film ‘I Am Game’ has a new release date. The film is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 3, 2026, in what is expected to be a massive global release. The film was initially announced as an Onam release on August 20, but the release has now been pushed by two weeks to facilitate a much wider theatrical rollout. Produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, this big-budget fantasy thriller is touted as one of the biggest films of Dulquer’s career. The film is directed by Nahas Hidhayath.

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Jom Varghese under the Wayfarer Films banner, ‘I Am Game’ has a screenplay written by Sajeer Baba, Ismail Abu Bakr and Bilal Moidu. The dialogues have been penned by Sajeer Baba, Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed.

Dulquer Salmaan has announced that the film, which has generated tremendous anticipation among fans and moviegoers, will now arrive as an even bigger theatrical release. In a social media post, he stated that the release was being moved to September 3 to take the film to more markets and reach a larger global audience. The actor also confirmed that ‘I Am Game’ will have a pan-Indian release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, bringing the film to audiences across the country. Dulquer Salmaan and Wayfarer Films stated that the date change was made to ensure that the mega-scale theatrical experience receives a release that matches the film’s enormous canvas and scale.

The film’s trailer and first song, released earlier, have already received an overwhelming response from audiences. The trailer was released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada and generated significant pan-Indian attention. The first song has also emerged as a major hit. The trailer, which kept viewers hooked from start to finish, offered glimpses of spectacular visuals, high-energy action and thrilling chase sequences, promising a grand theatrical experience. The film is expected to be a stylish fantasy thriller unlike anything Malayalam cinema audiences have seen before. Dulquer Salmaan has been presented in an extremely stylish and mass-oriented avatar, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.

Shot across more than 100 locations across South India, ‘I Am Game’ is gearing up to become one of the biggest releases in Malayalam cinema. Marking Dulquer Salmaan’s 40th film, this big-budget fantasy thriller features an impressive ensemble cast including Antony Varghese, Tamil actor-filmmaker Mysskin, Kaayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Tamil actress Samyuktha Viswanathan, among others.

Zee Music has acquired the music rights to the film. The music composed by Jakes Bejoy and the action sequences choreographed by Anbariv Masters are expected to be among the major highlights, judging by the trailer and the first song. ‘I Am Game’ is also the next production from Wayfarer Films following the blockbuster success of Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra. The film marks director Nahas Hidhayath’s next project after the blockbuster ‘RDX’.
