It doesn’t get bigger than this! For the first time ever, comedy king Santhanam will be seen in not one or two but three roles in a film!

Do we even need to say that the comedy quotient of the film will be three times more than that of any other film released so far?

Yes, the comedy caper, which has already triggered a huge amount of excitement in the industry, is to be bankrolled by Kotapadi J Rajesh’s KJR Studios, known for producing quality films like Aramm, Gulebagavali,  Airaa, Hero and Ka Pae Ranasingam and distributing superhits like Viswasam. The film, which will be a science fiction comedy,  is to be produced by Soldiers’ Factory, which is owned by K S Sinish, the director of the Jai,Anjali-starrer Balloon.

The team has said  that the title of this much awaited project will be officially announced at 5pm on September 5.

The reason why news of the film has generated so much excitement is not only because of the fact that Santhanam will be doing a triple action project for the first time but also because it is being directed by one of the most promising writers of the Tamil film industry, Karthik Yogi.

Interestingly, Yogi will be making his debut as a director with this film, which boasts of a really classy and confident technical team. In other words, one can expect some really creative content that has never been witnessed before.

The film, which is to go on floors shortly, will release in April, 2020. Keep watching this space for exciting announcements about the cast and the crew of the project.

I don’t know how many fans I have but they have always been supportive

The team of Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 including director Rambala, actor Santhanam and cinematographer Deepak Kumar Pathy were present to interact with media and press as the film is getting ready for release on February 7. 

Cinematographer Deepak Kumar Pathy said, “This is the third time I am working with Ram Bala sir and he is really talented for he is clear about what he wants. This helped me a lot in getting perfect output as he wanted.”

Director Ram Bala said, “I am there in the industry for a very long time and it was during that time Santhanam gave me an opportunity to make a film and that’s how Dhillukku Dhuddu happened. The film turned to be a decorous hit and successfully completed 75 days, which was an organic hit. Soon after the film’s success, we decided to come together for one more film. I am happy that the film has come out very well.”

Actor Santhanam said, “I am happy to meet you all after a long time. Both myself and Rambala sir worked together in the film Dhillukku Dhuddu. We had personally experienced a wonderful scenario in theatres where everyone had enjoyed the last 20mins of the film, which had lots of slapstick comedy episodes. So when we decided to make Dhillukku Dhuddu 2, we were keen on making full length film with slapstick moments. I must thank Dipak Kumar Pathy for capturing the film with top notch quality. Shooting a horror film isn’t an easy cup of coffee and he had strived a lot over nurturing this film with outstanding visuals. Music director Shabir has given fantastic songs for this film and his Sagaa is getting good reception for the songs. Shraddha Shivdas has exerted an impeccable performance in the film. I am thankful to Trident Arts R Ravindran for making the release process smoother. These days, it has become a tough challenge to release a film and with his support, the film is getting ready for release on February 7.” 

Santhanam thanked his fans who have been supportive in his journey. “I don’t know how many fans I have, but they have always been supportive to me at the hardest times, especially during the phase of past one year, where they have been patiently waiting for this film’s release. I have always wanted to proceed ahead in a journey and that’s what propelled me to become a hero from the stage of comeidian and even now my aspirations to become filmmaker are based on these supports. I hear some of my fans tell that I am a great inspiration to them and I want to keep it going.”

Santhanam begins work on film directed by debutant Johnson; Bollywood actress roped in as female lead!

Actor Santhanam has begun work on a film that is being directed by debutant Johnson.

The film, which is being produced by Raj Narayanan on behalf of Circle Box Entertainment, has Bollywood actress Tara Alisha Berry, who has acted in films like Mastram, The Perfect Girl and Love Games, as its female lead. 

The yet-to-be titled film will also feature actor Yatin Karyekar, who was seen as Krishnaji Bhatt in the Hindi film Bajirao Mastani, in an important role. The film has a big star cast including actor Motta Rajendran and Telugu actor Sai Kumar, who will be seen making a comeback to acting after a short break. 

Gopi Jagadeeswaran is the cinematographer for this film, which will have music by Santosh Narayanan. It may be recalled that Santosh Narayanan's work in recent films like Superstar Rajinikanth's Kabali and Kaala, and director Vetrimaran's Vada Chennai had come in for immense praise.

Leo John Paul will be the editor of this film, which is being referred to as Production No 1 for the time being. Raja will be the Art director of this film.

Director Johnson, who happens to be the winner of Season Four of Naalaya Iyakkunar, has penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film. He is making his debut as a director in the Tamil film industry through this film, the title and first look of which are expected to be released soon.
