Trisha calls for #ENDviolence against every child

She urged 3000 youth leaders takes pledge to speak up and raise awareness

Chennai, 28 August 2019 – UNICEF Celebrity Advocate and popular South Indian film star Ms Trisha Krishnan, urged 3000 young people to speak up and act to end all forms of violence against children.

Speaking at the #ENDviolence Youth Talks, Trisha highlighted the increased number of cases registered under the POCSO between 2014 to 2016. “As per the NCRB 2016 report, the cases reported under the POCSO Act in 2014 was about 9,000, 2015 it was 15,000 and 2016 it has doubled to 36,000 cases.” She revealed the crimes and child rapes are committed by the person in position of trust and known to the child. “About 95% of the offenders of rape cases are known to the victim. This speaks of unsafe environment looming all around for our children.”

Trisha called upon the young people who are 40 percent of India’s population to act and to challenge the widespread violence against girls and women and the patriarchal values that perpetuate inequality between girls and boys, women and men. She emphasized “Young people need to speak up against the age old ‘culture of silence’ which bolsters perpetrators to get away with the heinous crimes.”

The UNICEF Communication Specialist, Sugata Roy echoed Trisha. He said “Adolescents and young people’s voice are not heard on issues affecting their lives. They are not encouraged to participate in the activities which are planned for them. Wherever it happens it is either a tokenism or decorative. So, its high time to create an enabling environment where young people can speak and participate in programmes to end violence.”

End Violence Against Children is a unique collaborative effort that includes UNICEF and other UN agencies, governments, civil society, young people, advocates and champions, all focused on one thing: making the world safe for children.

The event was organized by Stella Maris College and Thozhamai in Partnership with UNICEF.

Trisha who got herself to the heart throne of tamils with her magical '96' has got back her Midas touch again . The Markandaeyi of tamil cinema has signed a film co-staring ever beautiful Simran. The film is touted to be an action  adventure .  director Sumanth Radhakrishnan is Captaining the project.

The film have got its own merit to be a first of its kind attempt in Indian Cinema. As of now we are planning to start the shoot in first week of March .the shoot will happen in chennai, Kerala ,pichavaram and thailand. 

The actresses will also under go serious level of marine training before we kick start the production. The film will be a new milestone by itself and in the careers of cast and crew involved."

Trisha's Action Thriller Paramapadham Vilayattu nears wrap up moment

Actress Trisha starrer  'Paramapadham Vilaiyattu' gears up for final schedule shoot with first look scheduled for release shortly.

Ennobled as the ‘Markandayi – Unaging Beauty’ of Tamil cinema, Trisha doesn’t want to just bank her journey upon this. It is so much evident with the kind of scripts that she is lining up now. While the offers are immensely brimming up Trisha’s stores, she remains firmly inclined towards picking unconventional ones. 

In an incisive term, her upcoming film ‘Paramapadham Vilaiyattu’, directed by 

Thiru Gnanam is going to prove of such illustrations, where she will be seen playing a doctor and mother of a daughter. With the major portions of the film already completed till now, the team gears up to shoot its final schedule in 

200yr old Robert Clive palace mansion in Yercaud. 

With the entire process of the Paramapadham Vilaiyattu being a great experience,  filmmaker Thiru Gnanam says, “It’s going to be a first of its kind Trisha movie! This might sound as a stereotypical statement from a director, but it is no exaggeration.  While Trisha reigns as an indisputable queen out here in the industry, she needn’t prefer taking an unconventional role of playing a mother of a daughter. But she felt that the gist of Paramapadham Vilaiyattu, her characterization and the way, the script is sketched has some uniqueness and instantly gave a nod to it.  In fact, she left everyone awestruck on the sets by getting even the toughest scenes accomplished in single take. Such has been the way she is adhered to the role and this project.” 

The game of  Paramapadham Vilaiyattu, ‘Snake and Ladder’  itself has its own way of offering twists and turns to the players, so how about this film that carries such a title. “Definitely, it’s going to be a game of unpredictable twists and turns played among the characters in the film. There’s a saying, Right thing at the Right Place and Right time. But what happens when a ‘Right thing is said at the Wrong Place and Wrong Time’ is what this game is all about. Trisha’s character is crafted with innocence transiting into intelligence…” 

The film also comprises of promising actors like Nandha, Richard, Vela Ramamoorthy and few more. RD Rajashekhar is pretty much busy with many projects was so much impressed with the film that he decided to postpone other films and take up this one. Amresh is composing music for this film, which has a mix of genres. Filmmaker Thiru Gnanam is so much sure that his background score would be noticed by all on par with songs. 

Produced by 24 HRS , Paramapadham Vilaiyattu is an action thriller, which will wrap up the shoot by this month with first look being planned up shortly.
