 Bollywood finally takes charge against defamation by media houses

Scandals and controversies come hand-in-hand in the world of showbiz, something probably everyone who is a part of the business signed up for. Since the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput, Bollywood has come under serious media scrutiny for drug link-ups, nepotism, etc. The industry has been facing a lot of criticism and backlash from the audience and media houses. Being a global phenomenon built on glitz and glamour, the industry has faced some accusations of being among the biggest purveyors.

It's not an unknown fact that for several years, the industry has been contributing an enormous amount to the Indian economy with its significant foreign exchange of revenue from overseas releases of films, tourism, exhibiting the culture, etc. It is also a big source of employment for various other industries that are largely dependent on it. The livelihood of the people associated with the industry has been considerably impacted by the smear campaign run by the media houses. Hence, there has been a desperate need of the industry experts and A-listers to speak up and take necessary action against the people who have been defaming the industry.

Finally, after gracefully dealing and handling the media circus, the entire Bollywood has united against two media houses for their irresponsible journalism and reporting.

This is not the first time that legal action has been initiated against the defendants. But, earlier the defendants have been penalized and reprimanded and have had orders passed against them by Courts and authorities for irresponsible and defamatory content and have been found guilty of broadcasting unsubstantiated and incorrect news.
