VELAMMAL'S CHESS CHAMPIONS DO IT FOR INDIA AGAIN
Chess prodigies of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Aynambakkam, D. Gukesh(Std
IX) and Rakshitta Ravi(X) won the Gold Medal in the (U-14 open) and
(U-16 girls) category respectively at the FIDE Online World Cadets and
Youth Rapid Chess Championships 2020, held recently.
Rakshitta Ravi won against her opponent Song Yuxin from China to gain
full points and D. Gukesh beat the Russian star youngster Volodar Murzin
in the final round.
Kudos to the champions for keeping the Indian Flag flying high. The
School Management congratulates them on their magnanimous victory and
wishes them success for their future endeavours.
