*From Madurai to the World: Vadhandhi: The Mystery of Mani Climbs to No. 2 Non-English Series Worldwide on Prime Video*
Within two weeks into its global premiere on August 7, Tamil Original suspense thriller series Vadhandhi: The Mystery of Mani has climbed to No. 2 among Non-English series worldwide on Prime Video, while also emerging as the No. 1 Scripted title globally. The milestone marks a strong outing for season two of the acclaimed franchise, which returned with an entirely new mystery, cast, and setting while staying true to the series’ essence. Streaming in Tamil with dubs in Telugu and Hindi, and subtitles in 15 languages, the series has found audiences across India and in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The first season, Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie, carved out a distinct space in the suspense-crime drama genre; season two builds on that legacy with a fresh case, a new lead in M. Sasikumar, and the same layered, character-driven storytelling that defines the franchise.
Set against the culturally rich backdrop of Madurai, the narrative seamlessly intertwines tradition and investigation with the raw energy and essence of the iconic Jallikattu festival. Staying true to the franchise's core themes of rumor against reality, season 2 draws audiences into a gripping mystery through layered storytelling, complex characters, and emotionally charged relationships. The season introduces Sasikumar as SI Moosa Raza, an honest, relentless police officer whose pursuit of the truth collides with politics, media frenzy, and human frailty. When skeletal remains are unearthed during the inauguration of a highway project, the investigation takes unexpected turns, leading him to an elusive prisoner named Mani.
Created, written, and directed by Andrew Louis, produced under the banner of Wallwatcher Films by Pushkar and Gayatri as creative producers, the eight-episode series stars M. Sasikumar in the lead as SI Moosa Raza, alongside Yashwanth, Anagha Maruthora, Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, Revathy Sharma, and Arjun Nandhakumar in pivotal roles.
