Pushpinder Tyagi essayed by Nawazuddin trying to find a wife, while Athiya essays Annie 

whose only motive is to get married to an NRI. What happens when these two meet and get 

married will have you in splits. The story and sequences are very relatable and will connect 

with audiences at every level.

Unconventional pairing: No one would have ever dreamt that Nawaz and Athiya would 

do a love story opposite each other. They are exactly opposite in real life and the way they

 have managed to convince audiences is laudable. Their onscreen chemistry is sparkling and

Nawaz and Athiya in a never seen before avatar: Set in heartland India, both Nawaz 

and Athiya will be seen in a never before seen avatar. Nawaz who has always played

Nawazuddin Siddiqui launches The Stranger In me By Neeta Shah & 

Aditi Mediratta Published by Om Books International at Taj Lands’ 

End, Mumbai

 Om Books International celebrated the launch of The Stranger in Me at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai. The book was launched by Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui last evening.

On the occasion author Neeta Shah & Aditi Mediratta shared their experience of putting together the book with moderator Salil Acharya and the audience.

Also present on the occasion were Producer Ashok Thakeria, Distributer Anil Thadani, Actor Siddhanth Kapoor, Music Composer Sulaiman Merchant (Music Director Duo Salim-Sulaiman) amongst others.

Commenting on the book being launched by Nawazuddin, author Neeta Shah says, "Nawaz Sir is one of the most versatile superstars in our country. His own journey until here is an inspiration to many out there who want to make it on their own, in any field. I am truly honoured that Nawaz Sir has graciously agreed to unveil our book.”

The actor also had great things to say about Neeta, Nawaz quotes, "Neeta is very creative be it marketing or writing. She sees things through a very different perception which is very fascinating. Once you start reading you won’t be able to put the book down till you finish it. I wish her all the luck and success with this path she has chosen.”

When asked whether books should be adapted into films, the actor replied: “It depends…sometimes you have to simply translate the book or sometimes you have to make an adaptation of a book. I feel books have a lot of material, if you want to make it into a web series, then you can give detailed information about the story and if you want to make it into a film, you need to highlight certain special incidents which will develop the story,”

Nawaz further added, “The Stranger in Me has special elements. There are a lot of twists in it, the pace of this book is really fast and there is an inner connection between human emotions, so I feel there is a possibility that a film could be made on this book."

Playing Balasaheb has been a once in a lifetime opportunity – Nawazuddin Siddiqui

 As an actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has come a long way from supporting cast in Sarfarosh (1999) to becoming one of the biggest actors in India today. At the trailer launch of the Balasaheb Thackeray biopic, Thackeray, helmed by Sanjay Raut, Nawazuddin Siddiqui spoke about essaying the most difficult role of his career. “When I first heard that I am doing the role of Balasaheb Thackeray, it felt like the best moment of my life! This has been the most challenging role for me,” said the National Award-winning actor.

It goes without saying that portraying the role of one of the most potent and influential men of the country, would come with its own hurdles. But looking at Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s onscreen aplomb, one cannot gauge the kind of effort that must have gone into the prepping for this role. As they started to shoot, and as Nawazuddin Siddiqui got into the skin of the character, and saw a sea of people shouting Balasaheb Thackeray’s name, he grew anxious. Giving us a candid insight, he shared, “I couldn’t ever imagine the difficulty this role would offer and I started growing nervous with time. The director helped me ease into the role while we were shooting.”

“Balasaheb’s personality is so imposing that one can only try to live up to it. It has been a tremendous opportunity for me as an actor and I am ever thankful to Sanjay Raut,” added Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the Shiv Sena Supremo in Thackeray alongside Amrita Rao who will portray Meenatai Thackeray, with a team of dedicated national and international award-winning technicians.  Thackeray, based on the life of the Shiv Sena Supremo - Balasaheb Thackeray, saw its newly released trailer trending on YouTube, with over 10 million hits. Firebrand Journalist-MP and man behind the film, Sanjay Raut, divulged that the casting for the role of Balasaheb took barely two minutes.

“Once while I was traveling, I watched Freaky Ali, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui played a golfer. I had already seen it before but I started watching it again, only to realize that Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s face can be made to look like Balasaheb,” said Sanjay Raut, who is also the writer of the film.

Sanjay Raut averred that before casting Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he wanted to see his style and gestures. In a matter of moments, Sanjay Raut was convinced. “I called him at a hotel and I observed his style and gait. And within minutes, I told him that I am making the ‘Thackeray’ biopic and he is playing Balasaheb Thackeray,” continued Sanjay Raut.

Thackeray is slated for a worldwide release on January 25, 2019, Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the Shiv Sena Supremo alongside Amrita Rao who will portray Meenatai Thackeray.
