The team of expert chefs from Dakshin who have mastered the traditional South Indian cooking methods to retain the authenticity of Kerala Cuisine, have curated special Onam Sadhya with 28 traditional vegetarian dishes and different type of delicious payasams, for Takeaways and Lunch Dine-in from 19^th August to 21^st August 2021.

 

This popular sit-down lunch brings family and friends together. Traditionally, the elaborate cooking style of sadhya served large extended families. However, the city is home to compact Malyalee families who love to celebrate the grand feasting and this is the reason hotel curated the concept of sadhya takeaway that serves 2 to 4 adults. 

Starting from the masala powders to ada (rice flakes) for payasam, each ingredient for this sadhya is made by Dakshin team to guarantee the authenticity. The menu would offer an extensive array of signature dishes like avial, olan , kalan , kootukari , erussery , pulissery , thoran ,parupp upradaman , paladapayasam.

Maharashtra woos tourists

Maharashtra woos tourists from Tamil Nadu

The Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, the State’s premier tourism authority is hosting a three-day Roadshow in Tamil Nadu, spread across Chennai and Madurai. This is as a part of a concerted new strategy to welcome domestic tourists from Tamil Nadu to Maharashtra. The Chennai leg of the roadshow was held on 5^th Feb 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel while the Madurai roadshow will be held on 7^th Feb 2020 at the Courtyard Marriott hotel.

Maharashtra, which has a variety of tourist offerings, destinations and products, has something for everyone, all throughout the year.  The Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra Shri Aditya Thackeray addressed the audience through a recorded video clip; invoked the historical relation between the people of the two states and also stressed on the role tourism can play in being a harbinger of people to people connect between the two states. An excerpt of his speech is mentioned here under,

“The Roadshow showcased the various facets of Maharashtra, which has a coastline of 720 km and has many natural beaches, historic forts, waterfalls, hill stations, wildlife sanctuaries, 5 world heritage sites like Ajanta, Ellora, Elephanta, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Western Ghats, etc. The world's third largest crater is located at Lonar. The State also has significant religious places such as 5 Jyotirlingas, Shirdi, Ashtavinayak, Pandharpur, three and half Shakti Peethas, etc.”

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Dilip Gawade, IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism, Govt. of Maharashtra, said, “with the exception of snow-capped mountains and deserts, Maharashtra offers everything that India offers. We truly consider it as a country within a state. Adorned by the beautiful Sahyadri ranges of the Western Ghats and the sprawling belt of the Konkan Coast, the State is home to some of the most unique wildlife, flora and fauna. We invite our brothers and sisters from the South to come and visit the state and be a part of the magnificent experience that the region will offer.”

Build A Library Project:

This time, MiniRoo also partnered with Rotary Next Gen in their ‘Build a Library’ project. With a single mission of making every child enrolled in school in Chennai to read, and read for fun and meaning, this project aims setting up libraries in underserved communities/schools across Chennai. They will help build a library at Panchayat Union School, Ezhil Nagar. New and slightly used story books, picture books, coloring books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and novels in English and Tamil were dropped off by various donors at MiniRoo’s Event on August 2^nd.  Donors got e-certificates and letter of appreciation for all their amazing efforts!

Dakshin at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park turns 30. The restaurant that first opened its doors on 14^th April 1989 now completes three decades of exemplary service. To commemorate this significant achievement, Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park hosted a poolside dinner on 13^th April 2019. The guests that evening were Dakshin patrons from corporates, consulates and socialites. The staff at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park dressed in traditional attire welcomed the guests with a traditional tilak and served fresh tender coconut water. The poolside dinner featured Dakshin’s favourites from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. Each region had its stall with chefs behind live counters serving the favourites. Live traditional instrumental music added to the ambience while guests indulged in dinner and drinks. Mr. Nalin Mandiratta, Area General Manager, South India and General Manager Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park thanked everyone present and spoke about the legacy of Dakshin. He also congratulated the staff and chefs for ensuring the authenticity and standards that Dakshin is known for are maintained. All in all everyone at the dinner were seen thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Life coach and author Puja Puneet launched her book 'Unlocking The Golden Cage' on January 14^th January 2019 at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park. Motivational Speaker Jack Canfield and prominent Lawyer Harish Salve received the first copy of the book at the launch event.

Unlocking The Golden Cage is a book about understanding the Laws Of Attraction and the Laws Of Vibration through simple tools and techniques that personally helped the author in her own life. By laying out the 7 step process that any person can follow to live the life of their dreams, this book also caters exclusively to the married indian woman in helping her find an identity beyond her surname and gain financial freedom, while also leading them to the joy and freedom they deserve.

About the Author

When Puja Puneet found herself married at 18 years old, instead of at Law College like she had planned, she thought her life’s path had been decided for her. But the burning desire for a more fulfilling existence lead her to study under the best in the self-help industry. As she helped take control of her own life and happiness, she automatically started to help the women around her do the same. Seeing the amazing results made her realize this was her calling, and she launched her centre Life By Design in 2011.Puja is bubbly and effusive for all of life’s blessings, with a gyspy-like love for travel. She lives with her wonderful husband Puneet and two beautiful boys in Chennai, India.
