for the new normal

Trains 5,000 teachers for new virtual training programme

EuroKids International, India’s leading early childhood education company, has upskilled over 5,000 teachers throughout India in its virtual training programme for teachers since May 2020. Keeping in mind the shift from physical to digital mode of education due to the lockdown on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, this new programme by EuroKids bridges the gap between erstwhile classroom teaching and the new-age, technology-backed virtual teaching that has come to the fore now.

Emphasizing on a holistic system of education, the programme also acquaints teachers with the technical knowledge and online etiquettes required for virtual schooling. The training also aims to enhance the digital know how, methods to encourage student engagement, have minimum distractions and grab student’s attention in a virtual learning mode. As a part of training protocol, unique modules are designed to enhance voice modulation techniques and ensure peer-to-peer learning in a virtual world. Assessment of student’s progress is another important aspect covered in the programme.

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to the proliferation of online classes so that children can continue their education paths. Since the beginning of the pandemic, EuroKids International’s group of brands – EuroKids Pre-School, Kangaroo Kids Pre-School, EuroSchool and Billabong High are giving special emphasis on teacher training to help them adapt to this new normal, to ensure continuous blended learning in a digital world and make sure that students and teachers are well-connected with each other that ensures seamless flow of new learnings. To garner the efforts made by teachers, EuroKids International started a campaign “O Teacher Shukriya” earlier in June to thank teachers for their efforts to impart education during crisis. EuroSchool has also introduced a unique concept of virtual labs that ensures students can carry out experiments from the comfort of their homes. EuroSchool recently flagged off its national event D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read Programme) virtually with Indian storytelling prodigy Saivi Singh.

We all fondly remember those teachers from our school and college days who inspired us to learn new things each day. We often wish we could do more to honour their contribution to our lives. EuroKids International, India’s leading early childhood education and K-12 company, has precisely done that with the roll out of its ‘Teacher My Superhero’ initiative across social and digital channels.

The campaign focuses on highlighting the efforts put in by the teacher community across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. When learning was disrupted for millions of students across all ages, schools and colleges, within just a couple of weeks, teachers stepped up to connect with their students over virtual classes and other platforms to continue the learning path, heralding a new way of education in the country.

The ‘Teacher My Superhero’ campaign was rolled out on June 14, 2020, with  EuroKids International releasing a song composed and sung by leading Bollywood singer Shaan titled ‘O Teacher Shukriya’, to commemorate the efforts of teachers in bringing learning home to our children.

The song was unveiled on the EuroKids International Facebook Channel: https://www.facebook.com/EurokidsInternational during a virtual event with Shaan and bands such as Swarathma and When Chai Met Toast, who came together to salute the warriors of uninterrupted learning – the teachers. #TeacherMySuperHero is a heart-warming initiative focused on giving people a platform to showcase their gratitude towards teachers, who often receive minimal appreciation for the work they do. EuroKids Group of brands - EuroKids Preschool, EuroSchool International, Kangaroo Kids Preschool and Billabong High International will be driving this initiative further through a collective network of 1,100 + preschool and 30+ schools across India. 

“A teacher’s contribution to our society today is often unappreciated, but their role in enriching every generation cannot be forgotten. It is time for us to join hands and appreciate the teaching community who has and will continue to shape the future of our nation and we also salute those who helped us in our path to where we are today. All our brands are coming together to drive this initiative, and I urge other schools and institutions to join the drive going forward.
