The Souled Store associates with CSK this

The Souled Store associates with CSK this IPL season!

It’s that time of the year when India’s two biggest passions –cricket and entertainment – come together! One of the highly anticipated moments for fans ahead of the spectacle that is the Indian Premier League is that of teams unveiling their official jersey for the season.

Chennai Super Kings, who have partnered The Souled Store, were one of the early teams to unveil their jersey. But they decided to do things a little differently – every replica jersey this year will be made from recycled plastic, as part of a larger social initiative by both brands.

Each jersey is created using 15 plastic bottles (that would have otherwise ended up in the ocean) and uses 90% less water than regular jerseys. The jersey comes in a customized box made from recycled material, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the legend himself – MS Dhoni.

The idea to launch products made from recycled materials had been under development for the last few months at The Souled Store. “As a brand, we’ve always been conscious of our larger social responsibility, and how we need to continuously implement better, more sustainable practices. We’d specifically like to thank the entire Chennai Super Kings team for being as excited and passionate as we were to make this happen,” said Harsh Lal, co-founder and director of The Souled Store.

The Super Kings are one of the most consistent teams in IPL history, having qualified for the Playoffs in 10 of their 11 seasons, reached the final eight times and lifted the trophy thrice.

“This is the first time in 14 IPL seasons that we’ve redesigned our jersey, and we felt it would be nice to have every replica jersey made from recycled plastic. It’s important for all of us to do our bit to help reduce plastic waste and work towards a greener planet,” Super Kings CEO KS Viswanathan said.

The new jersey launch immediately generated tremendous buzz on social media, with fans excited to see Thala launch the new jersey. Check out the reveal here:

As IPL 2021 nears and cricket fever hits the country, fans can get their hands on the official merchandise of their favourite teams. The Souled Store is also the official merchandise partner for the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals.

The official CSK 2021 replica is available for purchase on The Souled Store’s official website and app.

How to stay safer online

How to stay safer online: Your online privacy and device security checklist for 2021

Whatever you do online – posting on Facebook, paying your credit card bill, or shopping for presents at your favorite online retailer – you are vulnerable to cyber threats. Scammers are always on the hunt for personal information, credit card and bank account details, and other such valuable information that they can use for fraudulent activities. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to protect your online privacy. If you were to follow only just one rule, it should be this: Never give your personal or financial information to any person or company that emails, texts, or calls you. Let’s take a look at some of the other steps you can take.

1. Check your bank and credit card statements

If someone steals your Aadhaar number, or passwords, or banking information, they can cause a lot of damage quickly. For instance, they can siphon your bank account, run up charges on your credit card, or take loans in your name. It is, therefore, important to closely monitor your credit reports, bank account statements, and credit card statements for suspicious activity. Look for purchases that you didn’t make, payments you didn’t authorize, cards or loans you didn’t apply for, or withdrawals that look suspicious. If you notice something odd, contact your bank and credit card provider immediately.

2. Invest in a VPN

A virtual private network, or VPN, is one of the most important tools for boosting online privacy. It’s a way to surf the web while preventing prying eyes of businesses, governments, and hackers from seeing what you browse. When you log onto the internet with a VPN, it looks like your IP address is the same as the one attached to the remote server operated by your VPN provider. This keeps your identity and location secret from snoops. There are free VPN services available, but the ones that you pay for may provide more comprehensive protection.

3. Don’t use public Wi-Fi to access personal or financial information

Avoid logging into your online bank account or credit card portal using free Wi-Fi in public places or coffee shops or hotel lobbies. Such Wi-Fi connections often have lax security measures. Cyber snoops can easily intercept your online activity and steal your login credentials. It is okay to use public Wi-Fi for only those tasks that don’t expose your personal information. If you want to protect your privacy even better while using public Wi-Fi, log into your VPN provider before accessing the web.

4. Install device security software and update it frequently

In today’s world where we are using multiple devices to connect, engage and interact personally and professionally, having only an anti-virus on devices is not enough. Hackers are constantly unleashing new viruses. There are cyber threats that exist within the network we are connected to as well as through various applications that are connected to our PC or mobile phones.  It is important, therefore, to install and run trusted device security software on all devices to prevent viruses and malware from infecting it. Once you install the software, make sure to allow the updates requested by its makers. These updates are often developed to fight new viruses, trojans, and malware. Investing in a comprehensive security software that protects our devices, networks and ultimately our data, is the need of the hour.

5. Watch out for phishing scams

Phishing is a favorite trick of scammers who use fake emails and texts to try to trick you into giving them your personal and financial information, or even the log-in credentials of your online bank accounts or credit card portals. Here’s how it works: you will receive an unsolicited email, seemingly from one of your banks or service providers, saying that your account or your card needs to be verified to prevent it from being suspended. It will have a link that directs you to a web page that asks you to fill out your personal and financial information. Do not ever provide such information. Please know that your banks or service providers will never ask for such information online.

6. Change your passwords

Changing your passwords regularly can go a long way in keeping scammers from accessing your online accounts. When you set new passwords, make them complicated, using a hard-to-guess combination of symbols, numbers, letters or passphrases.

7. Use two-factor authentication for as many sites as possible

Please use two-factor authentication for all sites that offer it, especially for banks, healthcare, and financial services. It generally requires you to enter your username and password, followed by a prompt to enter a code number that’s texted or emailed to you. The extra login step greatly reduces the chances of hackers breaking into the sites you visit.

8. Protect your privacy on social media

The private information that you post on social media sites can be used by scammers to steal your identity. You can improve your social media privacy, though, by making the necessary adjustments to your settings on these accounts. The simplest and most important way to boost your online privacy is to be careful about what you post on social media. Avoid giving away personal information such as the city you live in, or your date of birth, or your residential address, or your phone number. Be careful, too, about even using your full first and last names.

9. Never accept offers for “free” in-game currency, cheat codes, or upgrades

Many popular video games offer gamers the chance to buy in-game currency, cheat codes, weapons upgrades, and other stuff. Such purchases are in high demand. Please, however, do not accept such offers from fellow gamers; they are often scams that could expose your device to malware or spyware that enable crooks to break into your online bank accounts or credit card portals. Also, do not ever share your gaming username and password with anyone – least of all, with other online gamers.

10. File your tax returns early

Filing your tax returns early can help protect your privacy by preventing scammers from filing a fraudulent tax return in your name. This can happen if cyber criminals have gained access to your personal details. By doing so, they can take away whatever tax refund the fake return filing might yield.

EuroKids International launches nationwide

EuroKids International launches nationwide initiative
with song tribute by Shaan ‘O Teacher Shukriya’

-Launches ‘Teacher My Superhero’ campaign

We all fondly remember those teachers from our school and college days who inspired us to learn new things each day. We often wish we could do more to honour their contribution to our lives. EuroKids International, India’s leading early childhood education and K-12 company, has precisely done that with the roll out of its ‘Teacher My Superhero’ initiative across social and digital channels.

The campaign focuses on highlighting the efforts put in by the teacher community across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. When learning was disrupted for millions of students across all ages, schools and colleges, within just a couple of weeks, teachers stepped up to connect with their students over virtual classes and other platforms to continue the learning path, heralding a new way of education in the country.
The ‘Teacher My Superhero’ campaign was rolled out on June 14, 2020, with  EuroKids International releasing a song composed and sung by leading Bollywood singer Shaan titled ‘O Teacher Shukriya’, to commemorate the efforts of teachers in bringing learning home to our children.

The song was unveiled on the EuroKids International Facebook Channel: https://www.facebook.com/EurokidsInternational during a virtual event with Shaan and bands such as Swarathma and When Chai Met Toast, who came together to salute the warriors of uninterrupted learning – the teachers. #TeacherMySuperHero is a heart-warming initiative focused on giving people a platform to showcase their gratitude towards teachers, who often receive minimal appreciation for the work they do. EuroKids Group of brands - EuroKids Preschool, EuroSchool International, Kangaroo Kids Preschool and Billabong High International will be driving this initiative further through a collective network of 1,100 + preschool and 30+ schools across India.

“A teacher’s contribution to our society today is often unappreciated, but their role in enriching every generation cannot be forgotten. It is time for us to join hands and appreciate the teaching community who has and will continue to shape the future of our nation and we also salute those who helped us in our path to where we are today. All our brands are coming together to drive this initiative, and I urge other schools and institutions to join the drive going forward. This is the least we can do towards those who spend their lives shaping our childhood and our children,” said Mr. Prajodh Rajan, Co-founder and Group CEO, EuroKids International.
“Often enough, we fail to acknowledge the very people who help us get to where we are. What motivated me to be a part of this song was a deep feeling of gratitude towards my teachers, who have made me the person I am. And I’m grateful to have this opportunity to pay tribute to thousands of teachers across the country, who are ensuring that education is uninterrupted despite the constraints around us due to the pandemic,” added Shaan.

Madras Dyslexia Association Joins Hands With Cheil India

Madras Dyslexia Association Joins Hands With Cheil India To Raise Awareness About Dyslexia
The #DyslexiaOnDisplay initiative aims to make parents aware and spark the right conversations.
MDA has been helping children overcome dyslexia for the last two decades. Taking their fight against dyslexia to the next level, they launched the #DyslexiaOnDisplay initiative.
Conceptualised by Cheil India, the integrated campaign leverages various digital touchpoints to raise awareness and increase acceptance about dyslexia among parents and the general public.
The campaign started with innovative search ads that mimicked the effect dyslexia has on children. Helping parents identify the signs that are common among children with dyslexia with a simple search.

The ads led them to a microsite where they could deep dive into dyslexia, turning concerned parents into aware ones. To help others make this shift, a Dyslexic Name Generator was created on the microsite.
The Dyslexic Name Generator is a fun tool that shows your name through the eyes of children with dyslexia. Users were asked to use this name on Twitter to rally support.
With just a tap, users could also share their ‘dyslexic name’ on social media helping MDA start the right conversations about dyslexia.
Speaking on the initiative, D. Chandrasekhar, President, MDA said, “Dyslexia is a neurological condition that we see in many children. It expresses itself through poor reading, writing, and executive functioning capabilities. Parents get panicky and think their child is lazy or has poor intelligence. But in reality, children with dyslexia are very intelligent. They can be easily turned around by early intervention. With this initiative, we hope to make dyslexia a part of everyday conversations so that it is easily identified.”
Adding his insights, Emmanuel Upputuru, Chief Creative Officer, Cheil India said, “At Cheil, we believe in the power of good ideas, backed by simple technology. With this initiative, we tried to make parents understand what it is like to live with dyslexia using smart technology. Because only when you understand dyslexia can you fight it better.”
“Parents are spending more and more time online, either surfing the Internet or scrolling through social media. That’s why we rolled out this integrated campaign on various digital touchpoints to spark the right conversations about dyslexia,” added Sanjeev Jasani, Chief Operating Officer, Cheil India.
About MDA:
The Madras Dyslexia Association was set up in 1992 as a non profit organization with the objective of assisting children with Dyslexia through special teaching methods. They work extensively with dyslexic children right from an initial assessment to taking them through their academic stream with specially set up training methods. They also work closely with several schools across Tamil Nadu in this process.
