India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, has been honoured with three awards at Future of Contact Center Summit and Awards 2021. The airline won the awards for Contact Centre Unique Innovations & Transformation and Customer Experience Excellence in Aviation. GMR Hyderabad International Airport Recommences Hyderabad

 GMR Hyderabad International Airport Recommences Hyderabad - Malé Flight Service

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), today recommenced direct flight service from Hyderabad to Malé, Maldives. IndiGo has started this new route from Hyderabad. The aircraft took off from Hyderabad to Malé amidst much fanfare at the airport. Senior officials from GMR Hyderabad International Airport and IndiGo, along with other airport stakeholders were at the terminal to wish passengers and crew bon voyage.

IndiGo flight 6E 8108 departed from GMR Hyderabad International Airport at 2.20 PM (IST) and will arrive at Maldives’ Velana International Airport at 4.30 PM (IST). The return flight 6E 8107 from Malé will arrive in Hyderabad at 20.50 PM (IST).  Initially the flights will operate between GMR Hyderabad International Airport and Malé three times a week from 22nd August (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). The frequency will increase to four times a week from 15th October (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday).

 IndiGo celebrates 1 year of ‘6E Rewards’ Credit card with guaranteed gifts and benefits for its members

To celebrate the successful completion of one year of its 6E Rewards credit card, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced additional benefits for its ‘6E Rewards’ credit card holders. The members will get guaranteed benefits on every spend of INR 4000. Furthermore, IndiGo has also collaborated with various brands including INOX cinemas, Accor Hotels, Hamleys, Puma, LionsGate Play to provide guaranteed benefits to the Card holders.

IndiGo is also running a contest for its credit card members where people have to spend using ‘6E Rewards’ Credit Card and share their experience on social media by tagging IndiGo with a post titled ‘How I saved money with 6E Rewards #6ERewardsTurnsone’. The airline has won four accolades across prestigious categories, including - Gold for Contact Center of the year, Silver for Best use of Technology in customer service and Bronze for both - Best Customer Feedback Strategy and Customer Service Complaints Team of the year”. IndiGo has emerged as the winner in these categories, outranking over 2,300 nominations from organizations across 51 nations this year.

81% travellers confident of flying with IndiGo as per

 81% travellers confident of flying with IndiGo as per a customer survey

  -        65% passengers travelled post-lockdown

-        76% customers gained confidence to travel again after their first travel post lockdown

-        82% passengers aware about Lean Clean Flying Machine

A consumer survey conducted by IndiGo revealed that 81% of the travellers are confident that IndiGo will ensure clean and safe travel for their journey. Factors such as health and wellness of the airline staff (90%), wearing PPE and maintain social distancing by airlines (89%), personal safety kits (87%), and hygiene measures at arrival (75%) are highlighted as important factors by the passengers during air travel. The survey was conducted online in December with 23000 travellers.

Mr. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to see that we have gained customer confidence over the last six months on the back of our safety measures and customer initiatives. There has been a 16-point rise in passenger confidence in IndiGo from 65% in June to 81% in December 2020. The report also showcases an increase in awareness for our safety measures from 55% in June to 82% in December. Air travel being the safest mode of travel, coupled with IndiGo’s clean and safe travel experience, 76% customers gained confidence to travel again post lockdown. We will continue to introduce new measures, products and services to further strengthen customer confidence in air travel and IndiGo. Our aim is to consistently provide a safe and hassle-free experience on-board a lean, clean flying machine”
                                                                                                                                                                     
SURVEY FINDINGS:

Opening-up to travel

  • 65% passengers travelled post-lockdown
  • 76% of customers gained confidence to travel again after their first travel post lockdown
  • 69% of the customers plan to travel again in next 3 months (up from 54%in June)

Safety is a key priority while travelling

  • Air transport is considered the safest form of travel by a wide margin for inter-city travel (55% of respondents felt air travel is safe vs. 8% for rail travel), followed by driving (37%)
  • 90% customers prioritize health and wellness of the airline staff, while 89% of them feel that wearing PPE and maintaining social distancing by airlines need to be in place. Personal safety kits and hygiene measures at arrival are next on priority with about 87% and 85% customers demanding the same, respectively. Sanitation and safety protocols by the airlines and contact-less travel experience remained the last priority with 85% customers considering it important
  • Passengers who haven’t travelled yet, were concerned due to post travel quarantine measures by various states (30%), fellow passengers not maintaining social distancing (24%), quality of air circulation in the aircraft (14%) and less flight options (13%)
  • For their next travel, the key drivers for customers to choose IndiGo will be - safety measures and precautions being taken by IndiGo (41%) followed by deals and discounts (24%), flight availability and options (23%) and new product and service (6%)
  • 81% of the passengers are confident that IndiGo will keep them safe while travelling in terms of health and safety
  • 82% of passengers are aware about Lean Clean Flying Machine

 Travel Trends

  • 47% of the respondents have expressed to travel solo in future, followed by 43% with family
  • Customers who have travelled recently would prefer to travel to metro cities (54%) next time, followed by Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities (38%) and international destinations (7%)
  • Those who haven’t travelled recently showed higher preference for international destinations while travelling next time (12%)
  • Customers who have travelled recently shared a higher propensity to travel for visiting family or hometown (49% v/s 40%) and business travel (31% v/s 26%) than those who hadn’t travelled recently
  • Customers who haven’t travelled recently were more inclined towards leisure travel (15% v/s 6%), work vacation (8% v/s 6%) and meeting friends (4% v/s 2%) than those who have travelled recently

  • Overall, VFR (46%) and business (29%) will be the key reasons to travel, followed by leisure (9%) and work vacation (7%)

IndiGo upgrades plan B options allows

 IndiGo upgrades plan B options, allows passengers to
re-book flights partially from/to transit station

In line with the vision to provide hassle-free services to its customers, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, has upgraded its Plan B options on the website and mobile app. The new additional option will allow a customer whose connecting flight has been cancelled, to either rebook partially - i.e., from origin till transit station or from transit station to destination - or take refund for the unused sector. This enhancement will provide greater flexibility to customers in case of limited options, delays or cancellations, especially owing to fog or other adverse weather conditions.

This additional alternative will allow customers to rebook or refund a part of their journey as per availability, offering more flexibility and choice.  Join Durga Puja festive celebrations with ‘India by IndiGo’ campaign

  To bring about festive cheer, India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, kickstarted ‘India by IndiGo’ campaign, a cultural expedition to celebrate the diverse Indian culture with festivals lined over the next few months. The campaign, which began with the colourful festival of Durga Puja, will continue to spread vigour and cheerfulness among its customers, with Diwali and Christmas in November and December, respectively. IndiGo is celebrating Durga Puja at six of its stations including Kolkata, Silchar, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Agartala and Jorhat from October 21 to October 27. 

 


Mr. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “The idea behind launching India by IndiGo campaign was to celebrate the country’s sights, sounds, smells, and flavours - in all their overwhelming glory. We strive to spread cheer and lift spirits for customers travelling during the festive season, with festive dances, music, food, motifs and traditional dresses that signify the festival in its full splendour. We will begin celebrations with Durga Puja and continue through Diwali and Christmas for our customers as they travel onboard our lean, clean, flying machine”. 

The festivities will include Dhunuchi Dance, Alpona design and Sindoor Khela at the airport, while the staff will be dressed in traditional Puja clothes and boarding gate and inflight announcements will be made in Bengali. In addition, special Bengali food menu has been introduced as part of 6E tiffin, which will be available exclusively on flights from Kolkata for travel dates between on 21 Oct to 27 October. The campaign is being promoted across OOH and activations in these six airports and all digital channels including the website, social media and emailers.

IndiGo Survey: 68% travellers feel flying is the safest mode of travel
65% customers confident of a clean and safe travel experience with IndiGo
Not maintaining social distancing and state quarantine measures key deterrents

A consumer survey conducted by IndiGo revealed that travellers feel air travel (68%) is the safest mode of transportation in the current scenario. The survey also highlighted that 65% customers felt confident that IndiGo will ensure clean and safe travel for their journey. Factors such as lack of social distancing by other passengers (62%), quarantine measures by states (55%) & sitting in the aircraft with so many people (55%) have been identified as key deterrents for air travel. The in-depth survey was commissioned to understand customer sentiments around air travel and their confidence in safety measures. The survey was conducted online between June 20- June 28, 2020 with 25000 travellers.

While it is heartening that about 65% travellers trust IndiGo to deliver a clean and safe travel experience, we will continue to introduce new measures, products and services to further strengthen their confidence in air travel and IndiGo. Our aim is to consistently provide a safe and hassle-free experience on-board a lean, clean flying machine.”

Mr. Boulter further added, “Even though most of our customers will be opting for domestic travel (62%) in the near future, there is a healthy interest in international travel (38%)”.

  • 57% customers are fairly aware of IndiGo’s Lean, clean flying machine programme to promote safe and clean travel experience
  • Concerns like fellow passengers not maintaining social distancing (62%), post travel quarantine measures by various states (55%), travelling with so many people (55%) impacted travel demand. Other factors included concerns around air circulation (42%) and sanitation efforts being made by airlines (32%)
  • 95% customers prioritize health and wellness of the airline staff, while 92% of them feel that sanitation and safety protocols by airlines need to be in place. Personal safety kits and contactless travel experience are next on priority with about 90% and 89% customers demanding the same, respectively. Temperature checks remained the last priority with 86% customers considering it important

  • About 38% customers considering international travel, while 62% will focus solely on domestic travel in near future. 27% customers considering a mix of domestic and international travel and 11% focussing solely on international travel
  • Though leisure travel will be impacted, VFR (46%) and business (35%) will be the key reasons to travel, followed by leisure (11%) and emergency travel (8%)

As part of the campaign, IndiGo will provide up to 25% Tough Cookie discount on the airfares to the nurses and doctors who have serviced in these challenging times. As part of the initiative, IndiGo will track the Tough Cookie journey to make it special every step of the way, starting from a complementary cookie tin at check-in, welcome announcement at the boarding gate, special Tough Cookie sticker on the PPE and in-flight announcement giving them a warm welcome on-board.

The nurses and doctors will be required to provide valid hospital IDs at the time of check-in as a proof of their identity. The discount will be offered while booking through IndiGo’s website, valid for sale and travel from July 01, 2020 till December 31, 2020.

The ‘Tough Cookie’ campaign has been conceptualised to thank the frontline workers who are constantly putting themselves at risk to save lives and contribute in our battle against COVID-19. IndiGo will run a 360-degree campaign on multiple platforms including Print, OOH, PR, social media, along with other on ground and in-flight activations to promote the initiative, which will go on till the year end. Connecting Qutub Minar to Half Moon Bay, IndiGo announces new flights between Delhi and Dammam
IndiGo to connect Dammam with Delhi w.e.f. March 10, 2020
 
In line with its vision to strengthen international connectivity, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, announced the launch of its new Delhi-Dammam flight effective March 10, 2020. Dammam was IndiGo’s 24th international destination and 3rd in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after Jeddah and Riyadh. With this new addition, the airline will now operate a total of 05 daily direct flights connecting Dammam with Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Trivandrum and Delhi.
