 Stone Bench Films’ Pan-India film 'Jigarthanda Double X' directed by Karthik Subbaraj all set for global acclamation with Dutch premier at International Film Festival Rotterdam*



After winning the hearts of Indian audience and critics, it is now time for 'Jigarthanda Double X' directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam of Stone Bench Films to make waves globally.  


The film starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in lead roles has been officially selected to have its Dutch premiere at the prestigious Rotterdam film festival, officially called as International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).


'Jigarthanda Double X' will be screened at IFFR in January 2024 under Limelight section and an official announcement in this regard has been made by IFFR team. 


A well-known and reputed film festival worldwide, IFFR is particular about its choice of films in making sure that great cinema from worldwide is screened there. Since its foundation in 1972, it has maintained a focus on showcasing emerging talents and established auteurs. 


Says producer Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, "We at Stone Bench Films are so happy with 'Jigarthanda Double X' having at Dutch premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam, that too under Limelight section. This is testimony to the fact that 'Jigarthanda Double X' has appealed to the audience worldwide. We are eagerly looking forward to our film's Dutch premiere at IFFR." 


According to director Karthik Subbaraj, "The very essence of 'Jigarthanda Double X' is 'You don't choose art. Art chooses you'.  The selection of 'Jigarthanda Double X' for Dutch premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam's Limelight section aptly reflects this. A good cinema is something that is beyond language and land. I am sure the audience at IFFR would welcome the film pretty much like their Indian counterparts."


'Jigathanda DoubleX' hit the screens in multiple languages on November 10, as a perfect Diwali treat. It went to become one of the highest grossing and critically acclaimed films of the year.
