The trailer of MX Player’s Queen proves why Ramya Krishnan is the ultimate queen

Directed by National Award Winner Gautham V Menonas well as Prasath Murugesan,

the highly anticipated series goes live on 14^th December

Reluctant actress, reluctant politician and a non-conformist until the very end - She was destiny’s child who rose from the ashes like a phoenix to rule the state as its youngest female chief minister. Inspired by true events, MX Player brings viewers the story of Shakthi Sheshadri – a woman who was pushed to embrace life choices which weren’t her own, and yet she excelled in each of those chapters.

Days after the highly appreciated teaser, MX Player – India’s leading streaming entertainment platform has dropped the trailer of the series today, 5^th December.

Directed by National Award winner Gautham Vasudev Menon & film director Prasath Murugesan, the series will see megastar Ramya Krishnan in as Queen. The story traces the journey of her life from being a reluctant impoverished 15-year-old debutante actress to her becoming the people’s Queen.

Speaking about her character - Ramya said, “Some  characters compel you to take on the challenge and being Shakthi was one of them. Be it her disciple, her will to defy the norm or her innocence in the hard world she lived in was something that appealed to me and I knew I must take up this project.”

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon further added saying, “Some stories deserve to be told and this was one of them. We’ve worked extremely hard on making the series and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me put this together. Every character that is associated with the show has a solid reason to be there and each actor has done a wonderful job of essaying their roles.”

KARTHI’S STYLISH-ROMANTIC-HEROIC DIMENSION 

AS DEV RAMALINGAM

Voguish looks, colourful visuals and what else? It looks like DEV brings up such an amazing value of elegance that everyone would fall in love undoubtedly. But it’s not just about Love and Romance, but DEV brings up a strong premise as filmmaker Rajath Ravishankar claims. “The protagonist happens to be a youngster, who has to fight against some challenging odds to accomplish what he wants. DEV has lots of elements that will be enjoyed and discussed by contemporary youngsters,” says filmmaker Rajath, who continues to add that he was inspired by his favourite cricketer Kapil Dev to name his hero so.  Well, the name holds the short form, but his full name happens to be Dev Ramalingam. 

On bringing up some emphasis over the female lead played by Rakul Preet Singh, he says, “She isn’t going to be someone like a blink and miss character, but will have as much substantiality as Karthi. She has done a fabulous job in many sequences, which audiences will definitely acclaim about.” 

Getting to speak about others in the cast, he adds, “Prakash Raj sir will be seen playing the role of Karthi’s dad and Ramya Krishnan mam as Rakul Preet Singh’s mother. Others in the star-cast includes Smile Settai Vignesh, Amrutha, Vamsi and few more prominent actors. Navarasa Nayagan Karthik sir and Nikki Galrani will have special appearance in the film.” 

As the filmmaker winds up offering insight about the film, he says, “As soon as I narrated the script to Harris Jayaraj sir, he immediately hugged and promised me that he will be a part of this film. DEV has 5 songs and it will be a musical celebration as well. While approaching Velraj sir to crank the camera, he was working with Karthi in Kadaikutty Singam. He has excellently picture the movie knowing how to capture Karthi’s look in different shades in accordance to the situations in movie. This is the third time, he has worked with Karthi as well.” 

With the mania of ‘Dev’ all set to hit the nook and corners of the town, Actor Suriya will be unveiling the first look of this film on his official twitter page.
