Behindwoods Productions proudly announces the official launch of the five songs’ posters of the feature film Moonwalk, the much-awaited full-length comedy entertainer that brings together AR Rahman and Prabhudeva after 27 years, produced and directed by Behindwoods - Founder & CEO - Mr. Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan.
Speaking at the event, *Director Manoj* shared the vision behind the songs and the film: “Moonwalk is a full-length comedy film. Our idea is simple - to make theatres the happiest place for families for the 2.5 hours. With Rahman sir’s music and Prabhu sir’s dance, we wanted families to enjoy it to the fullest.
The album of Moonwalk is built entirely around the concept of ‘happiness’, with each song exploring a distinct flavour of joy through dance, visuals, and emotions. ‘Yethu’ - A Celebration of Happiness, ‘Macarena’ - A Celebration of Friendship, ‘Mayile’ - A Celebration of Hard Work, ‘Tinga’ - A Celebration of Love & ‘Jiger’ - A Celebration of Life are the names of the five songs composed by AR Rahman and performed by Prabhu Deva in uniquely crafted dance sequences.
We have created VFX Worlds for 2 songs - ‘Mayile’ and ‘Jiger’ which will be an unique experience, but please do not expect Director Shankar sir level CG, but we have tried our best within our budget. Most importantly Prabhu sir has rehearsed 15 days for Yethu and Macarena, whereas he rehearsed for 30 days for the song Mayile, which will be one of its kind experience to the fans hopefully.
In a rare and emotional milestone, AR Rahman sir has sung all five songs in the album — something unprecedented in his career. The scratch versions sung by Rahman sir carried a happiness that no other voice could replicate. I have nothing against any singers, but for 4 months I kept telling him, sir, you are a symbol of happiness and a symbol of inspiration. When you sing, that happiness multiplies threefolds. He finally agreed, and that’s how all five songs were sung by him in this album for the very first time. A big thanks to him.
*AR Rahman:* “Working with Prabhu Deva again is an absolute joy. The only difference between the Prabhudeva of the old days and now is just a little bit of grey hair, but his energy is exactly the same. Watching him dance still gives me an incredible boost of excitement. I’ve never seen a legendary choreographer rehearse for an entire month for a single song — that kind of dedication is truly inspiring.
As a composer, it is my responsibility to choose the right singer for each song, but Manoj calmly refused to accept my reasons, he was convinced that I should sing every track myself. When he insisted the same thing for all five songs, I finally decided, ‘Alright—just for this one film, I will sing all of them.’ It was the love I saw on Manoj’s face, and his passion to bring back the same energy of my earlier collaborations with Prabhudeva, that made me say ‘Yes’. I agreed even without listening to the story.”
*Prabhudeva:* “Rahman sir’s music has always energized me, from the very beginning of my career. I’m extremely excited for audiences to experience Moonwalk and the happiness it brings.”
A Grand Musical Journey begins, with the release of these five songs’ posters, Moonwalk sets the stage for one of the most awaited soundtracks of 2026. The film is scheduled for a Summer 2026 theatrical release.
