Dhvani Bhanushali reveals how the entire crew

Dhvani Bhanushali reveals how the entire crew of Baby Girl took extra measures to stay safe while shooting the song!

With the release of her song Baby Girl receiving praises from the fans, India’s pop sensation Dhvani Bhanushali is currently over the moon. The song, which also features Guru Randhawa and is directed and choreographed by Remo D’Souza and his team, was shot in Goa in the span of a week.

Talking about how she was excited to get on the field and work after five months of lockdown, Dhvani shared, “Throughout the entire lockdown the one thing that many of us missed was getting out of the confines of our house and going out. So, shooting for Baby Girl in Goa after five months was a heavenly experience. Even though two of my songs ‘Jeetenge Hum’ and ‘Gallan Goriyan’ released during this lockdown, I really missed going on the field, trying out the best outfits for a song, practising the choreography and spending time with my team. It felt exhilarating to spend quality time with my team away from home and working with Guru Randhawa again is something I always look forward too.”

The pop sensation went on to reveal how the entire crew of Baby Girl took precautions while shooting the song. “We had to be extra cautious while shooting the song. The entire team made a serious effort to keep on sanitising, they wore the masks, gloves, the entire PPE Kit as a precaution. While the times have changed, we tried our level best to make this a comfortable as well as an enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Dhvani has always made sure to keep her fans entertained through these testing times. From sharing funny and relatable posts with her family to sharing covers of her favourite songs, the pop-princess has been active on her social media handles giving her fans a sneak peek in her daily life.

We congratulate Dhvani Bhanushali for this success and wish her luck for the many more to come!

myUpchar starts delivering Hospital Supplies for

myUpchar starts delivering Hospital Supplies for Health workers
In Tier 2 and 3 cities
Complete PPE kit, infrared thermometer and alcohol rub

Personal protective equipment (PPE) protects healthcare workers and caregivers who come in contact with COVID-19 patients again and again, and for prolonged periods. Globally, there is a shortage of this equipment as healthcare systems in many countries are under unprecedented strain because of the new coronavirus infection.

Seeing the shortage of PPE equipment in several healthcare facilities across the country, myUpchar on Wednesday announced that it has tied up with a licensed manufacturer to make these kits available to medical staff in every town and village of India.

The kits, available in packs of 10, 20 and 50 kits each, are especially geared towards smaller clinics and nursing homes which don’t have an assured supply of PPE.

“We know that we will need to pool all our healthcare resources to fight this pandemic - our doctors, nurses, medical staff are our biggest resources at this time. We see it as a priority to shore up their defences: our doctors need to be safe to keep us safe,” said Rajat Garg, co-founder of myUpchar.com.

PPEs are especially designed to protect the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth. This is because coronaviruses and other pathogens can easily enter the body through these surfaces. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued comprehensive guidelines for the use of this protective equipment. myUpchar is ensuring the availability of these kits in accordance with these guidelines. Here are the specifications:

  1. Triple layer masks: These single-use masks have a good resistance to fluids, to protect against cough and sneeze droplets. They are also breathable to allow their use over several hours.
  2. Goggles: Made with transparent, fog-resistant glass, these goggles have an adjustable holder to form a proper seal with the skin of the face. They can also accommodate prescription glasses.
  3. Gloves: These are available in two specifications: non-sterile nitrile gloves which can resist chemicals and disinfectants like chlorine and powder-free latex gloves.
  4. Gowns: These gowns cover the front and back of the body, and are impermeable to bodily fluids - including blood. Different sizes are available to ensure that doctors and medical staff can wear coveralls that come down to their lower legs.
  5. Shoe covers: These covers are easy to wear and remove in a short time. They are also impermeable to bodily fluids including blood.
  6. Head covers: These covers are designed to shield the head and neck of the medical practitioner - including the hair and hair extensions.
  7. Body bags: Leak-proof, air-sealed disposable bags of 2.2 x 1.2 meters, these bags also do not allow bodily fluids to seep through.

In addition to these, myUpchar is also making infrared thermometers, N-95 respirator masks and hospital-grade hand sanitizer (alcohol rub) available through its e-commerce platform. The infrared thermometer reads temperatures accurately from a safe distance from suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients. N95 masks are respirator masks that have a good resistance to fluids, to protect against cough and sneeze droplets. They have good breathability so they can be worn for several hours with as little discomfort as possible. And the hand sanitizer has 60-95% alcohol by volume, which has proven to be effective in breaking the chain of coronavirus transmission.

Together, PPE kits, alcohol rubs and infrared thermometers can provide 360-degree protection to our medical professionals and help India break the chain of transmission faster, better.

Eicher Group Foundation and Metso India join Plan India’s ‘Project

Eicher Group Foundation and Metso India join Plan India’s ‘Project Suraksha’ to support children and girls in vulnerable families

Amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) lock down and outcry from several poor and marginalized families, vulnerability girls and young women has come to the fore. Communities with scanty access to health and sanitation facilities for their girls in this time of crisis are facing the biggest hardships. In response to this, Plan India’s Project Suraksha aims to fight the COVID-19 crisis while working in close coordination with the Government, civil society organisations, corporates and donors to support weaker sections and communities in peril. In order to support Plan India’s cause by means of this project, Eicher Group Foundation and Metso India Pvt. Ltd have come forward to fulfil the organisation’s purpose and mission to provide gender sensitive public health and humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable families so that the impact of the crises on children, girls and young women is minimized and mitigated.

Extending his gratitude towards the supporting corporates, Mohammed Asif, Executive DirectorPlan India, said, “Plan India team is ever grateful for the support it is receiving from leading corporates, namely Metso and Eicher Motors, who have come forward to provide much needed humanitarian relief to some of the poorest and most vulnerable families and in particular the girl child. As a leading national NGO, working for social development and humanitarian causes, we are committed to promote awareness and sensitization in adolescent girls and young women on the ways to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus in India. Together, we are partnering the most vulnerable families and supporting their immediate needs of food and personal hygiene. Moving forward we will be working closely with the poor and vulnerable families to help restart education and learning for their children and promote skills and livelihoods in young women and men. While we are committed to our social development mandate, it is indeed encouraging to have socially committed corporates join hands with us to achieve the larger national development goals.”

Plan India’s humanitarian response aims to reach 2 lakh people on the ground with a focus on communicating public health information, distributing hygiene kits, dry ration kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) while ensuring that the needs and rights of girls and young women are addressed.

Eicher Group Foundation has donated to Plan India to provide dry ration and hygiene kits to daily wage workers, small vendors, pregnant and lactating mothers, orphans/abandoned children, primitive and nomadic tribes, families with disabled members, elderly headed household, female headed households, migrant laborer’s in Pune and Bhubaneshwar.

Mr. G Sekar, Director, Eicher Group Foundation, said, “We are committed to supporting the Government and various NGOs in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. We are working on several fronts to provide relief and support measures across various parts of the country. With Plan India and their on-ground partners, we plan to support 1500 families each, in Pune and in Bhubaneshwar.

In Alwar, Rajasthan, Metso India Pvt. Ltd. is supporting the most vulnerable communities affected by COVID-19 by providing dry ration, hygiene kit and personal protective equipment to doctors  and medical kits such as gloves, sanitizer, floor cleaner to the frontline workers (ANM, ASHA, AWW[1] & Lab Technician).

Commenting on the immediate action and commitment towards the crisis, Mr. Sanjar Sehgal, Senior Manager- HR and IR said, “We have been working globally with many not for profit organisations and here in India, we have joined hands with Plan India and hope to ensure that those in need have enough to eat and can protect their families during this lockdown due to COVID-19. This support will reach out to the daily wage earners, migrant labour and poor farmers meeting their day to day needs.” Metso aims to support more than 1560 most vulnerable and economically weaker families with dry ration kits and hygiene kit, 2395 frontline workers with medical and 131 doctors with PPE kit.

Plan India is also supporting the initiative of national agencies like Niti Aayog, National Disaster Management Authority and Ministry of Home Affairs to name a few. Simultaneously Plan India is engaging with local government agencies, civil society organisations, donors and healthcare experts to ensure that correct messages and immediate relief measures reach our beneficiaries to keep them healthy and protected during this pandemic.

Plan India believes that given the nature and scale of the crisis, it is of critical importance that governments, civil society organisations and corporates undertake strategic and collaborative actions spanning both, public health and humanitarian domains. Their focus must be on bolstering public health efforts to contain the COVID-19 disease; and minimising the disruptions and humanitarian fallout on poor people’s livelihoods, education of children, safety and protection of girls and young women and the healthcare of persons with HIV and other chronic illnesses.

Until 25th April 2020, Plan India has distributed 22,066 + Dry Ration Kits, distributed 24,296 + Hygiene Kits reached 1071 + villages with COVID-19 messaging.
