2.5 GWcapacity; Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurates
1.3 GW module facility in Chennai

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturer and comprehensive EPC solutions & rooftop solar provider announced a new solar photovoltaic (PV)module manufacturing facility located at IndoSpace Industrial Park, Oragadam, Tamil Naduinaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr M.K.Stalin. The new manufacturing facility has a 1.3 GW module manufacturing capacity annually. With this unit, Vikram Solar’s cumulative PV module manufacturing capacity reaches 2.5GW,which is currently the largest in India. It is aligned to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of making India self-reliant in solar manufacturing.

It will further contribute as an R&D platform for next-gen module technology. We have extensively leveraged digitization to ensure reliable and efficient manufacturing operations. We thank the Tamil Nadu government for their continued support and conducive environment to enable ease of doing business within the state.”

The state-of-the-art machinery deployed at the factory and the convergence of digitization with manufacturing will recast the global manufacturing landscape and give Vikram Solar the competitive-edge. We have implemented digital production display board, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled inspection for zero defect amongst various such emerging technologies.The digitization initiatives havefurther enabled seamless process like lean manufacturing, reducing and controlling wastages.

Vikram Solar’s manufacturing footprint consists of 1.2 GW facility inFalta, West Bengal and the new facility of 1.3 GW in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company has shipped over 3.5 GW PV modules globally.

as new CEO

Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary to remain MD, focus on diversification, new ventures, key corporate initiatives

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturers and a prominent EPC & rooftop solar solutions provider, today announced the appointment of renewable energy sector veteran, Mr Saibaba Vutukuri as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. This announcement comes in at an important juncture, marking the next phase of growth at Vikram Solar.

Mr Gyanesh Chaudhary will retain his position as the Managing Director of the company. With Mr Vutukuri’s appointment, Mr Chaudhary will take on a more strategic role involving portfolio diversification, key strategic initiatives and future ventures.


Mr Vutukuri, a post-graduate in International Business (MBA) from Copenhagen Business School, has over 3 decades of industry experience, with more than two decades spent in the wind and solar sector. Besides serving as the President and CEO- Diversification of the BSE listed Inox Wind Ltd in his last assignment, Mr Vutukuri has previously held leadership positions in several organizations including Business Head/Chief Executive, India Business (South and East) and South East Asia markets at Suzlon Energy Ltd among other leadership roles.
Speaking about Mr Vutukuri’s appointment, Mr Gyanesh Chaudhary, Managing Director, Vikram Solar said, “Sai’s knowledge and experience will be an extremely valuable asset to Vikram Solar. His wide experience in solar manufacturing, corporate affairs and international markets will help us to further strengthen our leadership position in the renewable sector. Vikram Solar Brings Solar Energy to 3 More Airports in India

New Solar Plans comminssioned at Dibrugarh (Assam), Gaya (Bihar) and Gondia (Maharastra)

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading solar module manufacturers and prominent rooftop solar & EPC solutions provider commissioned three new solar plants for Airport Authority of India (AAI) in Dibrugarh, Gaya, and Gondia, furthering the company’s contribution to solarization of airports in India.



These three new projects have a cumulative capacity of 1165 kW (or 1.1 MW), leading Vikram Solar to have a portfolio and experience of commissioning 6 solar projects for airports (Kolkata, Calicut, Dibrugarh, Gaya, Gondia and Cochin) in India till date, with cumulative capacity amounting to more than 4 MW.  

The capacity of the solar plant at Dibrugarh, Assam airport is 725 kW and the project is designed to serve as a Solar Carport. The plant is expected to provide accommodation to 200- 220 vehicles. Vikram Solar’s 345Wp Mono Crystalline modules were used to cover the 8000 sq mtr area of the carport. The plant is expected to generate approximately 10,40,000 kWh of green energy annually.

The Gondia, Maharashtra airport project is 220 kW in capacity and used Vikram Solar’s 330 Wp Polycrystalline Eldora Grand Series modules. This ground-mounted solar plant will power the Birsi Airport office building. 

The capacity of the solar plant at Gaya, Bihar airport is also 220 kW. The solar plant used Eldora Grand Series 325 Wp modules and expected to power 4 Airport Buildings at Gaya Airport. 

Each of the two 220 kW solar plants in Gaya and Gondia is expected to generate nearly 3,00,000 kWh green energy annually.

Vikram Solar Commissions 1461 kW Rooftop

 Vikram Solar Commissions 1461 kW Rooftop Solar projects for Century Plyboards (India) Limited

Chennai, 18th September, 2018: Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturer and a prominent rooftop solar & EPC solutions provider, announced the installation of a 1461 kW Rooftop Solar PV system for Century Plyboards (India) Limited at two locations. 
The 1056kW at Century Plyboards’ Chennai unit is spread over 11000 square metres across seven factory sheds and 3 evacuation points. There are 3300 modules in operations with a cumulative annual energy yield of 1.536 million units, which would help reduce 1310 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions per year.

Vikram Solar also commissioned a 405kW Rooftop Solar PV system for Century Plyboards’ Chirai Moti unit near the Kandla Port in Gujarat. Spread over 450 square metres, the project is powering the complete factory with the power evacuated at 2 points. The plant is expected to produce an annual yield of nearly 6 Lakh units which would reduce around 500 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions per year.
