Meeting under ‘Industry Care’ initiative held with Industries in the 

District of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Kandhamal

 

 

Under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, Shri Asit Kumar Tripathy, IAS (Retd.) Principal Advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha & Hon’ble Chairman, WODC, Government of Odisha has been emphasising to strengthen the industrial growth in every district of the state.

 

As part of the ‘Industry care’ initiative to engage formally with district wise industries and to raise awareness about business reforms and institutional mechanisms among industries and address their issues on a high priority basis, senior officials from the Government of Odisha met industries located in Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Kandhamal at the Conference Hall of DRDA, Ganjam held on 10th and 11th August 2021.

 

The event started with a keynote address by Shri Hemant Sharma, IAS Principal Secretary Industries Department, followed by an address by Shri Asit Kumar Tripathy, IAS (Retd.), Principal Advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister

 

A detailed discussion with the participated industries was also held followed by the presentation on District Investment Promotion Agency (DIPA) by Shri. Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS MD, IPICOL

 

The meeting was attended by 14 large scale industries and a total of more than 60 MSME units. Large industries such as Tata SEZ, IOCL, GAIL, Grasim Industries, Smartchem Technologies Ltd., Coastal Biotech etc. participated among others.

 

The majority of the issues raised by the participated industries are related to the Gopalpur Pipeline corridor, land, power supply, license renewal, credit to the units, approach road and water supply. These issues will be now vigorously monitored by the Department of Industries.

 

Specific issues related to the upcoming pipeline corridor from Gopalpur Port to Tata SEZ was raised by Tata SEZ. Principal Secretary, Industries emphasized the importance of the proposed pipeline corridor for attracting investment in the region.

 

Senior officials from the department of MSME including Shri Satyabrata Sahu, IAS Principal Secretary, MSME Dept, Government of Odisha have interacted with the industries in a session held on MSME.

 

These initiatives providing a unique opportunity for MSMEs to directly interact with the senior officials of the Government of Odisha and the on-site resolutions helping them solving their long-pending issues and concerns.

 

A Workshop on Prospective Economics Activities in the District of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Kandhamal was chaired by Shri Asit Kumar Tripathy, IAS (Retd.) to highlight the potential economic activities in the sectors of Agriculture, Aquaculture, Textile & Tourism among others.

 

Furthermore, in a significant move to streamline the investment facilitation mechanism at the district level, the Government of Odisha has announced the setting up of dedicated “District Investment Promotion Agencies (DIPA)” in each of the 30 Districts across the State.

SBI and IOCL reach an important milestone in LIBOR transition with a USD 100 million deal for 5 years

First SOFR linked deal in the External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) market

Country’s largest commercial bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has been awarded the mandate for the first SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) linked ECB deal by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).  SOFR is an identified replacement for USD LIBOR which is expected to be phased out at the end of 2021. The sunset has been triggered by the decision of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in UK not to compel contributing banks for LIBOR calculation after December 2021.

On this occasion, Deputy Managing Director (International Banking Group), Shri C Venkat Nageswar, said, “It is the first SOFR deal in the ECB space and the transaction demonstrates SBI’s position as a leader in aligning its systems and processes to embrace Alternate Reference Rates (ARRs). IOCL, the largest public sector Oil Marketing Company in India, by availing the first SOFR linked ECB, will set the pace for smooth transition by Indian Corporates to ARR mechanism.”

Vikram Solar Commissions 1461 kW Rooftop

 Vikram Solar Commissions 1461 kW Rooftop Solar projects for Century Plyboards (India) Limited

Chennai, 18th September, 2018: Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturer and a prominent rooftop solar & EPC solutions provider, announced the installation of a 1461 kW Rooftop Solar PV system for Century Plyboards (India) Limited at two locations. 
The 1056kW at Century Plyboards’ Chennai unit is spread over 11000 square metres across seven factory sheds and 3 evacuation points. There are 3300 modules in operations with a cumulative annual energy yield of 1.536 million units, which would help reduce 1310 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions per year.

Vikram Solar also commissioned a 405kW Rooftop Solar PV system for Century Plyboards’ Chirai Moti unit near the Kandla Port in Gujarat. Spread over 450 square metres, the project is powering the complete factory with the power evacuated at 2 points. The plant is expected to produce an annual yield of nearly 6 Lakh units which would reduce around 500 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions per year.
