VELAMMAL'S CHESS CHAMP TRIUMPHS
Grandmaster Gukesh D, Std 10 of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam triumphed winning the 4th position and a cash award of 900
Euros at the Concello de Carballo Clasico open held in Spain recently,
with a score of 8 out of 9 points.
This was Gukesh's first over-the-board triumph since last year.
Representing India at the World Chess Championship GM Gukesh won 7
rounds and 2 draws with a live rating 2578, bringing laurels.
The School Management accolades Gukesh as he stands out of the box
with his exemplary achievement inspiring budding Chess prodigies.
