Jayam Ravi starrer Comali has struck gold in box office

Jayam Ravi starrer Comali has struck gold in box office with a big opening, which has exceeded the expectations of team itself. In fact, the box office traders have labeled the film’s collection as the best ever in Jayam Ravi’s career till the date. Moreover, it’s a double delight for Producer Dr. Ishari K Ganesh as it marks his second ever successful venture after RJ Balaji-Priya Anand starrer “LKG” that was released earlier this year.  The entire team cherished and celebrated the success with a party, where the attendees weren’t merely “Comali” crew, but the directors, who had earlier worked with Jayam Ravi as well. This indicates that the actor is always the favourite and most-loved person of our film fraternity.

Producer Ishari K Ganesh expressed his gesture of thanksgiving to each and everyone in the team by gifting gold coin to them.  Far-famed for encouraging and introducing young and new talents in the film industry, debut director Pradeep Ranganathan is on cloud nine over the tremendous success of this film.

With couple of back to back hits through “LKG” and “COMALI”, Vels Film International has lined up few more promising films for release that includes Varun-Samyuktha Hegde-Yogi Babu starrer “Puppy”.  With the production house setting a good standard for itself by presenting content driven entertainment films, the distributors and exhibitors have now entitled Vels Films International as a bankable emblem in Tamil film industry.

Featuring Jayam Ravi, Kajal Aggarwal, Samyuktha Hegde, Yogi Babu and KS Ravikumar in title roles, Comali had an excellent opening on August 15 and continues to have a laudable week ahead. The film marks the directorial debut of Pradeep Ranganathan and Hiphop Aadhi’s musical score proved to be yet another attraction alongside Richard M Nathan’s cinematography and Umesh J Kumar’s art work as well.

Jayam Ravi signs 3-film deal with Screen Scene Media Entertainment

Being handsome with overpowering screen presence, technically sound and being a winner on ‘Mass’ zone grids is a blunt rarity. Very few actors have achieved this status where they win the whistles and applause for massy strokes and at the same time praised for being a part of movies based on substantive contents. With the raging and rising stardom of Jayam Ravi rocketing irresistibly, he has become the most-loved actor of producers too. What’s more appealingly truthful to this context is Screen Scene Media Entertainment signing up the actor for a 3-Film Deal .

Enouncing the good news with more delightedness, Jayam Ravi says, “More than feeling excited about signing a 3-film deal, what makes me honestly happy is the passion of Screen Scene Media Entertainment to produce so many movies. Such a presence of these production studios is really a boon to Tamil film industry and I would have felt happy even if any of my fellow friends from the industry had got this deal. I have personally observed and got amazed by the selection of movies that SSME had earlier been and is now associated with. It is so obvious that they have been fervently dedicated in marketing and releasing the substantial content bounded movies. In this aspect, I am curious in looking forward to work on such content-driven roles and scripts produced by them. Of course, if not for the creatively compelling minds of filmmakers who had chosen me for their films; this would have not been possible. I thank everyone at Screen Scene Media Entertainment for choosing me to be a part of their long journey, which I believe and definitely return in many folds out of my responsibility.”

The actor affirms that they are currently discussing about the projects and the official announcements will be made soon.

Filmmaker Karthik Thangavel on Adanga Maru

Filmmaker Karthik Thangavel on Adanga Maru

It stands out to be a fact that ‘Commercial Entertainer’ happens to be the most difficult among all genres. Of course, every ‘Emotion’ denotes a ‘Genre’ and bringing them all together is a huge challenge that very few filmmakers possess. Filmmaker Karthik Thangavel as believed by his entire family of “Adanga Maru” has achieved such craftsmanship. Hailing from the school of most celebrated filmmakers like Saran, Ameer and Cheran.

“It’s nice to hear such a verdict from a team of excellent talents. Especially, to hear it from Sujataa madam is a blessing. She has been the one who actually accompanied me from the initial stage. Now I am happy that somehow, I have lived up to her expectations,” says Karthik Thangavel, who shifts his words of honour for Jayam Ravi. “Well, I am so exhilarated that our team and close associates have been labeling ‘Adanga Maru’ as a perfect entertainer. In this case, all credit goes to Jayam Ravi sir. Initially, my script was raw and rustic, which he kept insisting me to tone down so that it becomes a treat for universal audience. What I really admired about him is that he could have easily ignored this script as there is a long queue awaiting his time. But he stood beside me suggesting and accepting my opinions too, which indeed has yielded us all a good output.”

Ask him about the pillars of Adanga Maru and he tells us, “Every actor and technician in the film! They have exerted an unbelievable effort for the movie.  I am so much privileged to get this team of actors and technicians, who have given life to my ideas.”

Adanga Maru is scheduled for worldwide release by Clapboard Productions on December 21. Featuring Jayam Ravi and Raashi Khanna in lead roles, the film is produced by Sujataa Vijayakumar for Home Movie Makers. Sam CS has composed music for this film with Sathyan Sooryan as cinematographer and Ruben as editor.

Raciness will be felt in veins with Adanga Maru – Editor Ruben

Raciness will be felt in veins with Adanga Maru” – Editor Ruben

As it is commonly said that a cinematographer is the first audience of a film, an editor is the absolute critic. While ‘Editing’ has been a department from the far-reach of public glare, he has evidently bridged the gap. This is earnestly due to the fact that Ruben doesn’t simply look in for editing transitions, but holding the pulse of audience intact. Accordingly, he seems to be very much adhered to Jayam Ravi-Raashi Khanna starrer, ‘Adanga Maru’ scheduled for release Dec 21 release.

Sharing his words on the entire process of editing, Ruben gives a simplistic verdict, “Raciness will be felt in veins with Adanga Maru. Usually, when the footages of a film reaches editing table, it goes through different layers for the actual feel to be experienced. Whereas with Adanga Maru, the scenario was completely different as the intensity could be felt by the initial phase itself. The first and foremost thing that struck my mind is that the film should be edited with extreme care. I must thank the entire team, especially producer Sujataa Vijayakumar for being patient and reciprocating to my situational need of getting the process done smoothly,” says Ruben.

Furthermore, he gets onto praise director Karthik Thangavel saying, “It happens that a film’s destiny is decided on either ‘Script Table’ or ‘Editing Table ‘. But a perfect execution of Karthik with brilliant narration made my job easier, but at the same time, it takes additional time to give a perfect output. I have a strong feeling that audience will definitely get engrossed thoroughly through the movie.”

Adanga Maru is directed by Karthik Thangavel and is produced by Sujataa Vijayakumar of  Home Movie Makers.
