Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa’s aesthetically designed
restaurant - C Salt specializes in regional Coastal Cuisine, is all set to open
its doors to guests on the 29th of February, 2020. While the venue
is surrounded by nature, the landscape showcases the tropical
environment combined with a rustic ambience and great seafood delicacies that
integrate to make this restaurant a first-of-its-kind in the city. The 'sea to
plate’ freshness of the seafood is the highlight of the menu, which reflects
the authenticity of traditional Coastal South Indian food. C Salt is
created with a simple design and comfortable seating that elevate the
overall dining experience.
The
menu is carefully curated keeping the quality of ingredients and atmosphere of
the locality in mind. Seasoned soups made with organic ingredients, salads
with refreshing tangy dressings, and appetizing nibbles such as deep fried
banana flower, tender prawns sautéed in Andhra spices and fresh fish wrapped
in betel leaf served with gooseberry dip are some of the dishes
included in the menu. The team has not only focused on locally sourced
ingredients and spices but also the crockeries and traditional utensils that
help retain the true flavors of the dishes.
A
team of chefs with their expertise has brought together some specialty dishes
with wide choice of seafood and other coastal dishes in the menu. While some of
the signature dishes such as Crab cooked in Chettinad’s spicy masala,
traditional and famous alleppey Prawn and Fish curries and Prawn bamboo biryani
please the palates, C Salt
also offers classic cocktails such as Gods Own Nectar, East Coast Paradise
and Malabar Mule to name a few, made exclusively to suit all seasons. Upbeat,
lively and contemporary music for all age groups adds up to enjoying perfect
evenings for family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

Chefs who have travelled across and studied culinary culture of South India. To
bring in the native essence and authenticity, apart from sourcing ingredients
locally, we have created a chef’s garden where we would be cultivating select
ingredients to produce homely grown organic vegetables and spices for signature
dishes”.
