With Diwali turning grander at the cinemas, debutant filmmaker Keerthiswaran promises a refreshing new take on heroism through his directorial debut Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and produced on a grand scale by Mythri Movie Makers. The film is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 17.

A filmmaker’s craft is defined not only by how they make a film but also by how they build the anticipation around it. From the chart-topping first single Oorum Blood to the cracker of a trailer, director Keerthiswaran has skillfully created a perfect wave of excitement for his maiden venture. Yet, amid all the buzz, the filmmaker remains calm and composed, fully confident in the cinematic experience he has crafted.

“My humble thanks to Mythri Movie Makers for banking their trust on me,” begins Keerthiswaran, who earlier assisted Sudha Kongara. “Mythri Movie Makers, one of the most reputed banners in the industry, made a blockbuster debut in Kollywood with Good Bad Ugly. They could have easily chosen a more experienced director for their second outing, but they chose me and that’s something I’ll always be grateful for.”

He adds,“When we started working on Dude, we wanted it to appeal to audiences everywhere. Pradeep Ranganathan is fast becoming a favourite not just among the youth but across all age groups. I wanted to bring out a new shade of heroism through his character, and Pradeep Ranganathan has nailed it like a pro.”

When asked about the film’s buzz, Keerthiswaran says with a smile, “All I can say for now is that Dude is packed with entertainment and will be a beautiful Diwali treat for audiences. Mamitha Baiju has delivered an impeccable performance, while Sarath Kumar and the entire ensemble have given their best. Together, they make Dude a wholesome entertainer.”

The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Mamitha Baiju, R. Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, Dravid Selvam, and others.Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, with Anil Yerneni as co-producer, Dude features music by Sai Abhyankkar, whose songs have already topped the charts.
