And now, here is one more inclusion to the league as the gorgeous and brilliant performer Malavika Mohanan is signed to play the female lead role.

தமிழ்த் திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்கத்திற்கு வரும் நவம்பர் 22 ஆம் தேதி (ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை) தேர்தல் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதில் ஏற்கனவே மூன்று அணிகள் போட்டியிடும் நிலையில், நான்காவதாக 

ஒரு அணி களம் இறங்கியுள்ளது. ‘முன்னேற்ற அணி’ என்ற 

பெயரில் போட்டியிரும் இந்த அணியில், தலைவர், செயலாளர், பொருளாளர் உள்ளிட்ட முக்கிய நிர்வாகிகள் பதவிக்கு

தமிழ்நாடு விழாவை கொண்டாடும் விதமாக புதுக்கடையில் அமைந்துள்ள தியாகிகள் நினைவு ஸ்தூபியில் திரைப்பட இயக்குநர் நாஞ்சில் பி.சி. அன்பழகன் மலர்தூவி வீரவணக்கம் செலுத்தினார். இந்த நிகழ்வுக்கு தலைநகர் தமிழ்ச் சங்க நிறுவனர் புலவர் சுந்தரராஜன் தலைமை தாங்கினார். பத்திரிக்கையாளர் சிவனி சதீஷ் முன்னிலை வகித்தார்.

சுதந்திரத்திற்கு பின் இந்தியா முழுவதும் மொழி வழியாக மாநிலங்கள் பிரிக்கப்பட்டன. தமிழ் மொழி பேசும் தமிழ் பகுதிகளை தமிழத்தோடு இணைப்பதில் பெரும் சிக்கல்கள் இருந்தது. பக்கத்து மாநிலங்கள் தமிழ்ப் பகுதிகளை விட்டு தர மறுத்தது. தமிழகத்தில் பெரும் போராட்டம் வெடித்தது. இந்த போராட்டத்திற்கு கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் குமரித் தந்தை மார்ஷல் நேசமணி அவர்களும் சென்னை பகுதியிலிருந்து மா.பொ.சிஅவர்களும் தலைமை தாங்கினார்.

மேலும் குஞ்சன் நாடார், சிதம்பர நாடார் நாடார், சேம் நதனியல், அப்துல் ரசாக் போன்ற பல தலைவர்கள் போராட்டத்தை தலைமை ஏற்று வழி நடத்தினர். அப்போது கேரளாவில் அமைச்சராக இருந்த சிதம்பர நாடார் அவர்கள் தனது மந்திரி பதவியையும் ராஜினாமா செய்தார். 

போராட்டம் மக்கள் மத்தியில் பெரும் கொந்தளிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது. 1953 இல் நடைபெற்ற போராட்டத்தில் காவல்துறை துப்பாக்கிச் சூடு நடத்தியது. 11 தியாகிகள் உயிர் நீத்தனர். இதோ இந்த புதுக்கடையில் 2 தியாகிகளை நாம் இழந்தோம். இறந்த தியாகிகளைப் போற்றும் விதமாக இன்று இந்த புதுக்கடையில் நிற்பதை நான் பெருமையாக கருதுகிறேன். 

1956 நவம்பர் 1 ல் சில தமிழ் பேசும் பகுதிகள் நீக்கலாக பல தமிழ் பேசும் பகுதிகளை இணைத்து புதிய தமிழ் மாகாணம் உருவானது. இழந்த தமிழ் பகுதிகளை மீண்டும் இணைக்க பல தியாகிகள் தொடர்ந்து போராடி வந்தனர் அதனால் எந்த பிரயோஜனமும் இல்லாமல் போனது துயரமே.

மேலும் சென்னை மாகாணம் என்று இருந்த தமிழ்நாட்டை "தமிழ்நாடு" என்று பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று தொடர்ந்து தமிழ் தலைவர்கள் போராடி வந்தனர். குறிப்பாக சங்கரலிங்க நாடார் அவர்கள் உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்து  உயிர் துறந்தார். 1968 இல் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த பேரறிஞர் அண்ணா அவர்கள் தமிழக சட்டமன்றத்தில் "தமிழ்நாடு" என்று தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கு பெயர் வைத்து வரலாற்று சாதனையை நிகழ்த்தினார். அதன் ஆட்சி வந்த புரட்சிதலைவர் எம்ஜிஆர் அவர்களும் புரட்சி தலைவி அம்மா அவர்களும் தியாகிகளுக்கு பல்வேறு சலுகைகளை வழங்கி கெளரவித்தனர்.

அம்மாவின் அரசியல் வாரிசாக ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த, தமிழக முதல்வர் எடப்பாடி கே. பழனிச்சாமி அவர்கள் தியாகிகளின் தியாகங்களை போற்றும் விதமாக நவம்பர் ஒன்றாம் தேதியை "தமிழ்நாடு நாள்" என்று அறிவித்து தமிழகத்தை கௌரவபடுத்தினார். இந்த தமிழ்நாடு நாளில் புதுக்கடையில் நின்று தியாகிகளை கௌரவிப்பதில் நான் பெருமை கொள்கிறேன். என்று நாஞ்சில் பி சி அன்பழகன் பேசினார்.

இந்த நிகழ்வில் அதிமுக வை சேர்ந்த பள்ளவிளை ராஜேஷ், தே. ராஜகுமார், சி.ஐயப்பன், ஜெகதீசன்,  மற்றும் தமிழ் அமைப்பை சேர்ந்த புலவர் கோவிந்தராசன், முனைவர் அருள்பிரகாஸ், முனைவர் ராணி பிரகாஸ், மற்றும் பலர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

A Tamil - English Dictionary with 4.25 Lakh words

Karky Research Foundation (KaReFo) has been working on Tamil computing and language literacy research for the past six years. They have launched ‘Chol Agaraadhi’, a mobile app for Android and Apple devices.

The dictionary app contains 4.25 lakh words, comprising of words from sangam literature, words from different dialects and modern technical words that can be searched both in Tamil and English.

The dictionary app offers features such as similar words, word definitions, simple usable examples, related words, word popularity, pleasantness and also provides pictures and pronunciation audio for high frequency words. The app can be used to convert 16 digit numerals to their equivalent Tamil and English word forms.

Law, farming, politics, information technology, mathematics, chemistry, geography, physics, and biology are a few of the 40 categories into which the words are classified. Every day, new words, definitions and examples are being added to this dictionary.
