NIT Tiruchirappalli Research Scholar received Young Woman Engineer Award 2020

Er. Revathi S, Research Scholar, Dept of ICE, NITT received the Young Woman Engineer Award 2020 by The Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Tiruchirappalli Local Centre (TLC).

To honour the contribution of Women to the engineering community and society, IEI TLC celebrated the International Women’s Day on 7th March 2020 in association with MASTeR Group of Institution. As part of the celebration, IEI TLC honoured a Young Woman Engineer for her accomplishments.
Dr Devi, Consultant Trichy Skin and Laser Clinic delivered her address related to the theme of International Women’s Day 2020, “THINK EQUAL, BUILD SMART, INNOVATE FOR CHANGE”. Women need to work on Multitasking environment. An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world. Achieving perseverance is most important for any success.




Mrs Nirmala Sasi Varier, Educator of English, Cauvery Global School, Trichy Let's all be Each for Equal. Equality is not a women's issue, it's a business issue. Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. 

Nominations were received, the Evaluation committee selected Er. Revathi S, Research Scholar, Department of Instrumentation & Control Engineering (ICE), NIT Tiruchirappalli as the recipient of the Young Engineer Award – 2020. The result was announced by Er. R Selvaraj, Past Chairman, IEI, TLC in International Women’s Day Celebration function at MASTeR group of Institution. 
The function was presided over by Mr Selvaraj, Past Chairman IEITLC. In his presidential address, he complimented the recipient of the award for the year 2020 and highlighted her contribution in the area of engineering community and society. He also narrated the role of woman in family and society. Then he presented the Young Woman Engineer Award 2020 to Er. Revathi S along with Dr Devi, Mrs Nirmala Sasi Varier Dr N Sivakumaran, Joint Secretary Tiruchirappalli Local Centre, Er. S. Samidas IEI TLC Committee Member.

In her acceptance speech, Er. Revathi thanked Tiruchirappalli Local Centre for honouring with the award and briefly explained her research experiences and shared struggles faced in her carrier. She dedicated this award to her family members and spouse who stood behind her on her journey. Also, she complimented the wonderful role played by the Institution of Engineers, Tiruchirappalli Local Centre in conducting technical activities.
Earlier Mrs Rakkammal, HoD, EEE Dept, MAMCET welcomed the gathering and Dr Anette Dean, MAMCET proposed the vote of thanks.
