Over the years, the Tamil film industry has witnessed the arrival of actresses from Kerala, Andhra, and Mumbai and the number of Tamil-speaking actresses here has been low when compared with the other regional actresses. However, things have improved recently and for a change, actresses from Tamil Nadu are also introduced in Tamil movies, and have been winning appreciation for their spellbinding performances.

The latest one to join the league is actress Suvitha Rajendran. Who is set to make her debut in Tamil Film Industry with the movie Dhaami.

Suvitha Rajendran, a native of Trichy completed her MBA and was working in a firm in Chennai. She was interested in acting right from her early years and as such, she entered modeling first and is now all set to debut as an actress through the movie ‘Dhaami’.

The film, which is a feel-good entertainer with a cheerful story revolves around 4 boys and 4 girls and Suvitha Rajendran has acted in the role of a journalist.

About her entering the Tamil Film Industry, Suvitha Rajendran shares, “I used to enjoy watching Kamal Haasan sir’s movies from a very young age. With this, I developed an interest in acting in movies. For all this interest, none in our family had been associated with a film background. When I express my interest in acting after completing my studies, my parents hesitated initially and even opposed this proposal.

After that, I shifted to Chennai where I entered the field of modeling and gradually prepared to become a professional actor, thereby getting trained by a reputed folk dance artist.

In the movie Dhaami, I acted quite naturally as instructed by the director Praveen. This experience has improved my confidence.

Director Praveen encouraged me as well, remarking,” You have acting fire in you! You perform well indeed”.

Although this is my first film, the shooting spot was always seen busy with work mode all the time and there was no time for fun and amusement. Currently, the entire team is busily working towards the release of this film.

Though I have focused on modeling on one side, I have decided to give more focus to acting as well. Presently, I have been getting a lot of offers. However, I have not accepted all of them. I am determined to win the hearts of the movie buffs with my roles and performances, and I am ready to wait with patience to get such offers.”
