GV Prakash Kumar’s Blackmail: Audio and Trailer Launch Press Release

*GV Prakash Kumar’s Blackmail: Audio and Trailer Launch Press Release*

JDS Film Factory, helmed by producer Jayakkodi Amalraj, is presenting Blackmail, a gripping thriller starring GV Prakash Kumar in the lead. The film is directed by Mu. Maran, acclaimed for his earlier successes Iravukku Aayiram Kangal and Kannai Nambathey. With Bindhu Madhavi, Teju Ashwini, Kingsley, and others in pivotal roles, the film features music by Sam C S. The theatrical release is slated for August 1, 2025. The audio and trailer launch took place on July 19, 2025 at Kamala Cinemas, drawing an enthusiastic response from the press and film fraternity.

Highlights from the Launch Event

Producer Jayakkodi Amalraj opened the event with heartfelt gratitude, saying,
“Blackmail was made possible only because of GV Prakash Kumar. He stood with me and supported the entire production through every stage. Even after completing major portions of the shoot, there were eight more days left, and he ensured it was completed without delay. He has received only 50 percent of his remuneration but still completed dubbing and is now actively promoting the film. That speaks volumes about his character and support for producers.”

Director RV Udhayakumar said, “The title Blackmail itself is captivating. I recall watching a Hindi film with the same title featuring Dharmendra almost 35 years ago. Today, this title draws attention once again. Mu Maran has crafted every shot brilliantly and the cinematography has enhanced it further. Bindhu Madhavi is a talented performer and it is refreshing to see her back. GV Prakash, whom I have known since childhood, was once almost signed by me as a composer. I was told then that he was too young, but today, he stands tall as a composer and actor. He is a rare, multi-talented gem. Producers often finish a film with tension and concern, but here I see genuine smiles. That credit goes to GV Prakash for not pressuring the team for pending dues. Sam C S has delivered a terrific score, and Teju Ashwini looks promising. I wish the whole team great success.”

Music Director Sam C S said, “This is my second collaboration with Mu Maran after Iravukku Aayiram Kangal. Interestingly, D Imman was initially signed and had even composed a song. However, I stepped in and am glad to be a part of this film. Mu Maran is a perfectionist who ensures that every scene delivers. GV Prakash’s expressions give the film its soul. The villain’s character adds another gripping layer. Since Mu Maran writes with minimal dialogues, the music plays a vital role. I even joked with him to credit me for dialogues. This film will leave a deep impact, possibly even disturb you with its themes. Please do support it.”

Lyricist Karthik Netha said, “I am happy to have worked with GV Prakash’s music on many projects, and now to write lyrics for a film where he is the lead is truly special. Sam C S is also a skilled lyricist and working alongside him was enjoyable. This film will certainly captivate audiences.”

Actress Teju Ashwini said, “I once performed in a one-minute music video with GV Prakash sir, and it went viral. He said we should work together in a feature film, and here we are. This is a special film for me, showing a different side of my acting. I thank Mu Maran sir for trusting me. This is my second film, and I request everyone to support us.”

Actor Linga said, “I thank Amalraj sir and Mu Maran for this opportunity. I was initially nervous around GV Prakash, but he made me feel at ease. The team was warm and vibrant throughout the shoot. Thank you all.”

Actress Chandrika stated, “I am debuting in Tamil cinema with Blackmail. My role includes a song that is not typical, but essential to the narrative. GV Prakash and Mu Maran have created something special. I am excited and grateful.”

Actor Vettai Muthukumar said, “One of my dream roles has come true through this film. My character has depth and humor. I have seen the sincerity with which Amalraj sir worked. GV Prakash and I have shared previous collaborations, and working with Mu Maran was insightful as he guided our performances carefully. I wish for your support.”

Actress Bindhu Madhavi mentioned, “I am happy to return to Tamil cinema with a powerful role. I cannot reveal much, but I promise it will surprise you. I thank Mu Maran sir and request your support for our film releasing on August 1.”

Producer G Dhananjayan shared a valuable message, “I am pleased that Amalraj sir gifted ‘Velpaari’ books instead of bouquets. Blackmail will surely be successful, like Velpaari. Films like Maargan and DNA have shown that thrillers with emotional core work well. GV Prakash is one of the rare personalities without haters. I urge all actors to cooperate with producers by accepting remuneration aligned with rights-based revenue. Also, I request reviewers to be honest but not harsh. Bindhu is a fantastic actor. The whole team has worked incredibly hard. My best wishes to all.”

Producer Five Star Kathiresan said, “The trailer assures a mix of family drama and thriller elements, which is a winning formula. Sam C S is the heartbeat of many films and he shines here again. I launched GV Prakash as a composer in Veyil and Polladhavan, and seeing a producer praise him on stage today fills me with pride. His goodwill reminds me of Rajinikanth sir, who acted in Pandiyan without remuneration to help a director. That kind of gesture builds legacy. GV Prakash is following that path. I am confident this film will be a hit.”

Director Vasantha Balan said, “Thrillers and horror films are the genres that keep audiences off their phones. Mu Maran has delivered an exceptional thriller. Sam C S has once again proved his brilliance. GV Prakash started with my film Veyil and today he is a powerful actor and composer. More than anything, his kindness stands out. He has supported my films by waiving his salary. I wish the entire team great success.”

Director Adhik Ravichandran said, “I have been a fan of Sam C S from the start. Iravukku Aayiram Kangal made me admire Mu Maran’s direction. GV Prakash and I go way back and our friendship continues. I believe this film will do wonders. Bindhu and Teju are fantastic. I wish everyone great success and urge audiences to support the film in theatres.”

Dream Warriors Pictures CEO Mr. Guhan said, “Mu Maran has finely crafted a film that action-thriller fans will love. Blackmail is a must-watch for GV Prakash fans. His acting is grounded and emotionally rich. Sam C S delivers again after Vikram Vedha and Kaithi. One note to filmmakers: when songs become hits, audiences expect them on screen. Let us finalize song placements during scripting, not after release. This helps meet expectations. My best wishes to the entire team.”

Director Mu Maran shared, “I am grateful to producer Amalraj sir for his unwavering support. Despite many hurdles, he ensured a smooth production. GV Prakash stood by me like a pillar. Blackmail is more than a thriller. It blends family, tension, dark comedy, and emotion. It reflects the reality of blackmail in our society. I thank every actor and technician who helped shape my vision. Please support this film. Thank you.”

Actor GV Prakash Kumar expressed, “Mu Maran sir sent me a one-liner which was impressive. He is a rare talent with great potential. Amalraj sir, as a first-time producer, handled everything smoothly. The film has come out very well. D Imman sir contributed a song, and Sam C S has given stellar music. The Kingsley and Muthukumar duo is promising. Bindhu Madhavi and Teju Ashwini have performed beautifully. Blackmail is a satisfying film for audiences. Please support us. Thank you.”

Producer Amalraj concluded the event with a warm vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude to the entire cast, crew, and special guests for making the occasion a grand success.
