AMARAN, PRODUCED BY RAAJKAMAL FILMS INTERNATIONAL & TURMERIC MEDIA, SELECTED AS OPENING FILM OF THE INDIAN PANORAMA AT IFFI 2025

Amaran, the widely acclaimed film produced by RaajKamal Films International and Turmeric Media, has been officially selected as the Opening Feature Film in the Indian Panorama section at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

This prestigious selection marks a proud milestone for the entire Amaran team, as the film inaugurates the Indian Panorama showcase - one of the most celebrated platforms for India’s finest cinematic achievements.

Adding to this distinction, Amaran has also been nominated for the Golden Peacock Award under the International Competition category. It is one of the few Indian films to earn a place in this globally recognised segment, underscoring its artistic excellence and international appeal.

Representing the film at IFFI 2025 will be Producers Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran, Director Rajkumar Periasamy, and lead actors Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. The team will travel to Goa to participate in the festival’s screening ceremony on 21st November 2025.

Inspired by the extraordinary real-life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, Ashoka Chakra, Amaran has moved audiences across the country with its powerful portrayal of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism. The film honours Major Varadarajan’s supreme service to the nation and brings his legacy to the forefront through a deeply human and cinematic narrative.

The selection of Amaran as the Opening Film at IFFI 2025 stands as a testament to its creative vision, technical brilliance, and emotional resonance. It is a celebration not only of the film’s craft but also of the valour of the Indian Armed Forces and the enduring spirit of Indian storytelling.

With this recognition at one of India’s grandest cinematic stages, Amaran continues its inspiring journey, both as a work of cinema and as a tribute to a national hero.
