Now, celebrated for his discerning choice of roles and a strong presence in both film and digital platforms, Siddharth is set to headline Netflix’s ambitious new original series Unaccustomed Earth, based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s award-winning short-story collection.

His recent projects like Chiththa and 3BHK not only drew critical acclaim but also earned him global recognition for their deeply emotional storytelling. With Unaccustomed Earth, Siddharth takes yet another significant step, bringing to life one of Lahiri’s most celebrated works in a series poised to connect with audiences on an international stage.Siddharth has left his mark as a star in all time classics in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi...and now is set to be seen by the global audience. He is now set to showcase his charm and talent as an American born character. 

Unaccustomed Earth is an eight-episode character-driven drama romance, described as “epic, soapy, and culturally vibrant.” Set in Cambridge, Massachusetts, within an elite, close-knit Indian-American community, the series explores themes of love, desire, belonging, and identity while offering an intimate, nuanced look at relationships and cultural expectations.

At the heart of the story is Parul Chaudhury (Freida Pinto), a devoted wife whose life is shaken when her long-lost love Amit Mukherjee (Siddharth) re-enters her world. Amit, a warmhearted Bengali-American from Cambridge, is the dependable friend everyone turns to in a crisis but struggles to find balance in work and love. Their reunion sparks a star-crossed romance and a scandalous affair that threatens to upend the fragile order of their insular immigrant community.

Unaccustomed Earth is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series brings together a distinguished creative team: acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Madhuri Shekar (3 Body Problem, The Nevers) serves as writer and showrunner, while Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox) directs and executive produces the opening two episodes. Executive producers also include John Wells, Jhumpa Lahiri, Nisha Ganatra, Erica Saleh, Erin Jontow, and Celia Costas. The eight-episode drama will stream globally on Netflix.
