The contemporary Indian author, Padmashri Ruskin Bond enlightened the students of Velammal Nexus Schools, sharing the innumerable experiences of his mesmerizing journey as a man of simplicity, and an inspirational poet. The students presented a memorabilia titled ‘Essence, Eighty Five’, a composition of 85 poems woven by the children of Velammal on 29.11.2019 (Friday) at one of the leading hotels in the city. The guest was honoured by the Senior Principal of Velammal Nexus Schools, Mrs. Jayanthy Rajagopalan. The students’ interactive session with the legendary writer and their performance on one of Mr. Bond’s literary works created a cherishable experience for the student community. It was indeed a red - lettered day for all Velammalians to honour and be honoured by this legendary author

VELAMMAL EXCELS IN ROBOTICS
Master D. Prasanna, Master S. Rishikesan, Master M. Hariharan and Master D. Prajhan of Class 8 of Velammal Main school, Mogappair campus took part in the Robotics Super League organized by Prag Robotics Pvt. Ltd, Chennai recently. Our students brought laurels to our school grabbing 1st prize with a cash award worth Rs. 5000 in the Inter- School Robotics Competition held at B.S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology. The School Management applauds the stupendous achievers on their remarkable feat.

VELAMMAL TO HOST ITS 34TH VALLAL PANDIDURAI MEMORIAL INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION
Velammal Main Campus, Mugappair is organizing 34th Vallal Pandidurai Competition to enrich the glorified classical Tamil language on 31st August, 2019. We have cherished celebrating this day successfully for the past 33 years. Around 250 leading schools of across Chennai will take part in this prestigious competition. About 3000 students will be participating in various competitions comprising of Oratorical, Essay writing, Drawing, Music and Dance Competition that will reflect Tamil heritage and culture. The massive contest will be held to bring out the hidden talents of the students. Eminent judges will be judging the performance of the participants. Cash prizes worth Rs. 3 lakhs will be awarded to the deserving candidates along with a rolling trophy and certificates

AWARENESS SEMINAR ON BONE HEALTH HELD AT VELAMMAL
Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus organized a medical camp on bone health at the school premises on 7.08.19. The Chief Guest Dr. A. Saravanan MBBS, M. S. Ortho, Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Hospital, Chennai addressed the students of class VIII on the importance of bone, bone structure and weird facts of skeleton. The session was interactive and created an awareness on healthy ageing with strong bones. Bone density check up was given to all the staff of Velammal by a team of doctors. The session threw light on healthy life style.

KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION CEREMONY HELD AT VELAMMAL
Velammal Main campus, Mogappair hosted Kindergarten Graduation ceremony on 23rd March , 2019 in its campus. The guests of honour Dr. Suresh Kumar Ph.D , Sun TV Anchor and Smt. Sujatha Babu S, M.A News reader , Sun TV presided over the function and conferred 357 graduates and 10 teacher trainees. Wide variety of cultural performance by the kids impressed everyone and it was a great feast to the eyes.
